John Dewey Brumley Jr., 86, of Silsbee, died Thursday, January 29, 2015. Funeral service was Saturday, Jauary 31 at Broussard’s Mortuary in Silsbee. A native of Arkadelphia, Arkansas, he owned and operated Brumley Logging. Survivors include daughter, GayleMcClusky and husband Reverend KevinMcClusky of Silsbee; sons, Bert Carpenter and wife Martha of Silsbee and Ron Carpenter of Kounze; sister, Joyce Kirkendall and husband Kenneth of Lumberton; and six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

William Smith

William “Bill” Smith, 74, of Kountze, died Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. Funeral service was Saturday, January 31 at Broussard’s Mortuary in Kountze with burial following in Magnolia Springs Cemetery in Kirbyville. A native of Jasper, he was a United States Navy veteran and a retired truck driver. Survivors include sons, Robert Smith and wife Elsa of Houston and Bubba Smith of Kountze; daughter, Tabitha Hargraves Pritchett and husband Greg of Kountze; sister, Betty Horne and husband Jim of Jasper; brother, Talmadge Smith and wife Gloria of Leander; and seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Kayla H. Dickerson, 52, of Lumberton and a native of Jasper, died Friday, January 30, 2015 at her home. Funeral service was Tuesday, February 3 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with burial following in Trout Creek Cemetery in Call. Survivors include her mother, Cliffie Husbands of Lumberton; sons, Charles Eddie Dickerson and wife Angie of Kountze and Brady Dickerson and wife Chelsea of Lumberton; brother, Terry Husbands and wife Dorrita of Lumberton; sister, Debbie Hale and husband Jeff of Phoenix, Arizona; and five grandchildren.

Donnie Walters Sr.

Donnie RayWalters Sr., 69, of Kountze, died Thursday, January 29, 2015. A native of Honey Island and a lifelong resident of Kountze, he worked at Bethlehem Steel and Paperboard Cord. Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Wanda Sue Walters; son, Donnie RayWalters Jr. and wife Rachel of Lumberton; daughters, Penny Bergeron and husband Eddie and HeidiWalters, all of New Orleans, Louisiana; stepson, Richard Hartley and wife Claudia of Conway,Arkansas; stepdaughter, Veronica Hartley of Groves; sisters, Elizabeth Sprouce and husband Richard of Humble and Carrie Walters Davis of Kountze; and ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

A graveside service for Tommy Price Anders, 79, of Spurger was at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Liberty Hill Cemetery in San Augustine. Visitation was from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday, January 29, 2015 at Farmer Funeral Home. Mr.Anders died January 28, 2015 at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont. A native of San Augustine, he was a long time resident of Spurger. Tommy was retired from Temple Inland and a boilermaker and fireman by trade. He proudly served his country in the US Army. Mr. Anders is preceded in death by his parents, Joe Bailey andMarjorieAleph Smith Anders; and brothers, Terrell Anders and Joe BaileyAnders Jr. Survivors include his daughter, Karla Shay Dozier and husband Donald of Spurger; brothers, JimmyAnders of Kountze, Gerald Ray Anders of Kountze, and David LeeAnders of Orange; sisters, Jo Ann Dorsett of Lubbock and Barbara Nell Jacobson of Pearland; and grandson, Tyler Grant Dozier of Spurger.

Thomas Briggs

Thomas Jay Briggs, 52, of Lumberton, died Saturday, January 31, 2015. Funeral service was at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday, Feb. 4) at Victory Temple in Beaumont with burial following in Resthaven Cemetery in Silsbee under the direction of Lumberton Family Funeral Home in Lumberton. He was in pharmaceutical sales, played the drums at Christ Community Church in Beaumont and Calvary Church in Lumberton as well as other churches in the area and was a basketball referee. Survivors include his parents, June and Robert Briggs; children, Joshua Briggs of Beaumont, Samantha Sexton and husband Toby of Port Neches, and Black Briggs and Grayson Briggs, both of Nome; brothers, Rev. Scott Briggs and wife Kathy of Silsbee and Timothy Briggs and wife Elizabeth of Tomball; and one grandchild.

Nettie Patel

Nettie Lee Hollyfield Patel, 78, beloved wife of Naresh 'Nick' Patel and daughter of Dora and Eugene Hollyfield, died January 28, 2015 at Christus St Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. Funeral service was at 1 p.m. Monday, February 2, 2015 at Farmer Funeral Home and she was laid to rest in Franks Branch Cemetery in Fred. Visitation was Sunday afternoon from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. at the funeral home. A native and lifelong resident of Silsbee, Nettie had worked as a trust officer for American National Bank and was co-owner of Deir's Drive In and Red Cloud RV Park for several years. Mrs. Patel is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Elmer Hollyfield and Myrl Hollyfield; and sisters, Alma Smart, Gladys Cunningham, Mittie Richardson, Alta Gilmore and Myrtle Deir and husband Charles, who raised her. Survivors include her husband, Naresh 'Nick' Patel of Silsbee; and numerous nieces and nephews of her and Nick's, whom they loved as their own children.

Linda Rose Dupuis, 68, of Mamou, Louisiana and a native of Ville Platte, Louisiana died Tuesday, January 20, 2015 in Lumberton after a short battle with cancer. Funeral service was Saturday, January 24 at Lumberton Family Funeral Home in Lumberton. Burial will take place in L’anseMeg Cemetery inMamou, Louisiana at a later date. Survivors include daughters, PaulaWatts and husband Joseph of Jasper and Phyllis Peeler and husband Chris of Lumberton; son, Jeff Guillory and wife Peggy of Lumberton; sister, Faye Landreneau of Reddell, Louisiana; and 12 grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren.
