Raymond Russ Sr.

Raymond Edward Russ Sr., 80, of Silsbee died Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at his home. A memorial service was held Saturday, May 2 at Pinecrest Baptist Church in Silsbee under the direction of Lumberton Family Funeral Home. He was a United States Airforce veteran, a member of Pinecrest Baptist Church, and a member of the American Bowling Congress. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Joyce Russ of Silsbee; children, Annell McMullen and husband Larry of Silsbee, Ray Russ Jr. and wife Melissa of Silsbee and Stephen Russ and wife Amanda of Silsbee; brother, Robert Russ and wife Tina of Halletsville; and eight grandchildren.

Billie O’Leary

Billie Mae Butler O’Leary of Silsbee was born September 10, 1933 in Voth, Texas and passed awayMay 2, 2015 at Kountze Nursing Home. Billie was retired from Silsbee Doctors Hospital as an admitting clerk. She was a longtime resident of Silsbee. She is preceded in death by her parents,Marion and Shella Mae Leatherwood; husbands, Archie Frank Butler and Joseph O’Leary, Sr.; and sister, Sue Gore. Survivors include son, Gary Butler of Kountze; sisters, Marion (Jean) Herrington of Silsbee and Catherine Dale McKnight of Lumberton; grandchildren Christian Butler, Stewart Butler, Baylor Butler and Laurel Butler and six great grandchildren Corgan, Hayden, Aubrey, Rebecca, Michael and Grace. Visitation began at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at Farmer Funeral Home with graveside services following at 4:00 p.m. in Resthaven Cemetery.

Rowena Caraway

Funeral service for Cecil Rowena Caughman Caraway, 91, of Silsbee was at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday May 5, 2015 at First Baptist Church in Silsbee with interment following at Resthaven Cemetery. Visitation was from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday May 4, 2015 at Farmer Funeral Home. Mrs. Caraway passed away April 29, 2015 at her residence. Rowena was born in Tulip, Arkansas, graduated from Carthage High School and Brians Business College in Hot Springs. She married her husband Clifton in 1946 and worked for A&M University while Clifton was attending A&M. Clifton and Rowena moved to Silsbee in 1952 and went into the automobile business. Rowena worked actively in the business until 1991. Rowena was active and a charter member of First Presbyterian Church and she was awarded an Honorary Life Membership of the Women of the Church in May 1984.

Rena Gardner

Rena Jane Gardner, 68, of Wildwood, died Thursday, April 16, 2015 at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 30 at Wildwood-Village Mills United Methodist Church in Village Mills under the direction of Broussard’s Mortuary in Kountze. Her committal was held at Broussard’s Crematorium in Beaumont and will be interred at Old Hardin Cemetery in Kountze. A native of Leonardtown, Maryland, she was a human resource manager with the United States government and a longtime member at Wildwood-Village Mills United Methodist Church. Survivors include her stepdaughter, Janet Gardner of Falls Church, Virginia.

Arnold Gibson

A graveside service for Arnold Kenneth Gibson, 69 of Silsbee will be Saturday, May 2, 2015 at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery in Jonesboro, Arkansas under the direction of Farmer Funeral Home. Mr. Gibson passed away at St. Elizabeth Hospital onApril 27, 2015. He was a native of Jonesboro and a longtime resident of Silsbee. Mr. Gibson worked for DuPont as an Engineer. He is preceded in death by his parents, Louis W. and Alma Ruth Fike Gibson. Survivors include his wife, Sandra A. Gibson of Silsbee; sons, Anthony Gibson and wife Sarah of Dequincy, Louisiana and Troy Gibson and wife Tamera of Eufaula, Alabama; daughter, Tanya Gibson of Boca Raton, Florida; and five grandchildren, Shriyanthia Winalasekera, Asanga Winalasekera, Kolby Gibson, Adrianna Gibson, and Austin Gibson.

Edward Bell

Funeral services for Edward Britton Bell, 80, of Blessing were at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday April 29, 2015 at Farmer Funeral Home with interment following at Baker Bell Cemetery. Mr. Bell passed away April 24, 2015 at DeTar Heathcare System in Victoria. He was a native of Fred and a longtime resident of Blessing. He served his country proudly in the US Army. Mr. Bell is preceded in death by his parents A.V. and Rebecca Lester Callaway Bell; son Everett Britton Bell; brothers A.V. Bell Jr., Bill Bell, Dizzy Dean Bell; sisters Haurence Baker, Tennie Moore, and Mary Hicks. Survivors include daughters, Portia Elin Bell of Blessing, Linda Jo Ortiz of Arlington, Lana Joyce Bell of Alabama; son, Edward Lynn Bell of Alabama; step-daughter Leanette Orcutt of Alabama; brother Buddy Bell; sisters Ettie Garroutte of Nederland and Jeanette Rao of Alexander AR; and five grandchildren. Mr. Bell will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

A native of Kountze and a longtime resident of Silsbee, he was a truck driver employed by David Hatton Logging. Survivors include his mother, Geneva Snow of Georgetown; wife, Emily Husser Spears of Silsbee; son, James David Dykes of Silsbee; daughter, Tamela R. Porath of Silsbee; brothers, Bobby Spears of Austin and Leonard Snow of Silsbee; sisters, Judy Martin of Georgetown and Lynda Snow of Oklahoma; and three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Survivors include sons, Albert Leon Sontag of Florida, Arthur Lee Sontag and wife Beverly of Kountze, and Kenneth Hugh Sontag, Marvin Wayne Brown and wife Cindi and Craig Stewart Brown, all of Palestine; daughter, Pichello “P.J.” Lane and husband Michael of Palestine; and eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren.
