Janice Hansel

Janice Lee Hansel, 56, of Wildwood, died Sunday,May 11, 2014. Survivors include her husband, Phillip Sand Hansel II; son, Zachary Sand Hansel of Beaumont; and brothers, Donald Golden and wife Kathy and Terry Golden and wife Lynette, all of Richmond. Cremation arrangements were under the direction of Broussard’s Mortuary in Kountze.

Valma Duke

Valma Raye Duke, 87, of Lumberton, died Saturday, May 10, 1014 at her home. Funeral service was at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday, May 14) at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with burial following in Knupple Cemetery, also in Silsbee. Anative of Call and a longtime resident of Lumberton, she was homemaker. Survivors include her sons, Larry Wayne Duke of Colmesneil, Jerry Lynn Duke of Marquis, Donald Ray Duke of San Antonio and Johnny Dale Duke of Cook, Tennessee; sister, Bertie Wilson of Beaumont; and numerous grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.

SaraAnne Shoffit, 87, ofWildwood, died Sunday, May 11, 2014. Funeral service was at 11 a.m. today (Wednesday, May 14) at Wildwood-Village Mills United Methodist Church under the direction of Broussard’s Mortuary in Kountze with burial following in Forest Park East Cemetery in Webster. A native of Clarksville, Tennessee, she lived in Erin, Tennessee for 18 years, in 1946 she moved to Houston where shelived for 42 years. She worked  for Union Texas Petroleumfor 25 years before retiring in 1987 and moving toWildwood. Survivors include her sons, JohnWayne Shoffit and wife Kay of Houston and Roger Louis Shoffit and wifeAnnie of Beaver,Arkansas; and five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Patricia B. Peavy, 89, of Silsbee, died Monday, May 5, 2014. Agraveside service was Thursday, May 8 at Frank’s Branch Cemetery in Fred under the direction of Broussard’s Mortuary in Silsbee. A native of Roganville, she was a retired supervisor with Southwestern Bell. Survivors include her nephew Billy Peavy and his wife Stacy; and 11 great nieces and nephews.

JohnnieAnena Harrington, 89, of Lumberton, died Thursday, May 8, 2014 at her home. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 18 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee. A native of Brookeland and a longtime resident of the Lumberton/Voth area, she worked as a dietary supervisor for Baptist Hospital. Survivors include sons, William Victor Harrington of Lumberton and Samuel Allen Harrington and wife Deidra ofBeaumont; daughters, Susan Anena Snider and husband Jerry of Beaumont and Darcy Marie Pennypacker of Lumberton; sisters, Ruth Brammer and Eleanor Marsiglia, both of Lumberton and Yvonne Jordan of Silsbee; and 16 grandchildren, 25 greatgrandchildren and five greatgreat-grandchildren.

Mary Turner

Funeral services for Mary Frances Turner, 76, of Lumberton were at 4:30 p.m. Monday, May 12, 2014 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with interment following at Cunningham Cemetery, also in Silsbee. Visitation was from 3:30 until 4:30 the day of the service. Mrs. Turner passed away at Trinity Rehab and Retirement Center in San Augustine. She was a native of Silsbee, a loving mother and grandmother. Preceded in death by her father, Wilburn Eddings. Survivors include fiance’ Royce Thompson of Lumberton; sons, Steven Norman, Edward Norman, Floyd Norman, Sammy White, Leslie James, and Jesse James; daughters, Franchesca Maricle and Tabitha Norman; brother, Melvin Eddings; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Visitation began at 5:00 p.m. SundayMay 11, 2014 at the funeral home. Mr. Doggett passed awayMay 8, 2014 at his residence. He was a native of Kountze and a longtime resident of Silsbee. He worked in the construction field and was a veteran of the United States Army. Billy is survived by his parents, Ruben and Carolyn Doggett of Silsbee; daughters, Briana Doggett and Savannah Doggett both of Silsbee; and sisters, Marla Hulet of Fannett and Keri Arrington of Silsbee.

Memorial service for Joshua Robert Jeffcoat, 32, of Silsbee was at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at Farmer Funeral Home. Mr. Jeffcoat passed away May 9, 2014 at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont. Joshua was a native of Palestine and a long time resident of Silsbee. He worked in construction. He is preceded in death by his father, Jeffery Keith Jeffcoat; grandparents, Charles and Delores Davis, Reagan Jeffcoat and Alice Jeffcoat. Survivors include mother, Delores Jeffcoat of Silsbee; son, Tanner Robert Jeffcoat of Lumberton; sister, Ashley Jeffcoat of Silsbee; nephew, Easton Lane Cotton; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
