Richard Earl Griffith

Richard Earl Griffith know as “Rick” of Beaumont passed away at his residence after a lengthy illness June 14, 2015. Rick was born July 28, 1959. Preceded in death by his mother Jackie Delaune Griffith; sister Pamela Griffith and brother Sammy Griffith Jr. He is survived by his father and stepmother Sam and Sandra Griffith; sister Phyllis Griffith; nephew Shayne Griffith, and many family members and friends. In his earlier years, Rick worked for Brown and Root, at the time of his death he was working for Ratliff Industries in Lumberton who were very special to him. A Celebration of Rick’s life will be held at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at 3pm. In closing Rick we all love you, family and friends.

Grace P. Buffington

Funeral services for Grace P. Buffington, 103, of Lumberton was held 9 a.m. Friday, June 12, 2015 at Farmer Funeral Home with interment to follow at Kings Cemetery in Hartburg, Newton County Texas. Visitation was held at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Mrs. Buffington passed away at Village Creek Rehab and Nursing Center in Lumberton on Wednesday, June 10, 2015. She was born January 27, 1912 in Groesbeck, Texas and had lived in Lumberton for many years. She is preceded in death by her parents Henry Thomas and Della Grace McWorter Padgett; husband Gaston Albon Buffington; sons Charles Buffington, Albon Buffington, and David Buffington; one grandson; eight brothers and sisters. Survivors include son Mike Buffington and wife Liz of Lumberton; daughter-in-law Jackie Buffington of Burleson, TX; nine grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

Davis Whitted, 72, of Silsbee died June 13, 2015 in Katy, Tx. Father Jim Courville will be conducting funeral service Friday, June 19 at 11 a.m. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, 401 S. Parker Ave, Bryan, Tx. Lunch will follow, all friends and family are welcome. Where there is love, there is inevitable suffering.Our grief is proportional to the depth with which we loved. The great comfort in losing a loved one is the understanding to be absent for the body is to be present with the Lord. How glorious that must be!

Lucille Elam Lockett, 75, of Silsbee died Tuesday, June 16 at her home. Funeral services will be at 1pm at First Missionary Baptist Church in Silsbee under the direction of Robinson’s Funeral Home with interment following at Kirby Cemetery also in Silsbee. Survivors include her husband of 59 years Charles Lockett; daughters, Brenda Lockett, Carolyn Lockett Carey, Charlene Lockett Blackmond and Vanessa Lockett Holman, sons, Kenneth Lockett Sr and Kevin Lockett; stepson, Steve Smith, along with a numerous number of grandkids and great grandkids

Cornell Lee, Jr.

Cornell “Bookman” Lee, Jr. 50, of Kountze died June 9, 2015. Cornell was formally employed by the City of Kountze and was a member of Greater Mt. Corinth Missionary Baptist Church. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 20, 2015 at Mt. Corinth Missionary Baptist Church in Kountze with interment at Trinity Valley District Cemetery also in Kountze. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time. Survivors include his father Cornell Lee Sr. and wife Shirley of Camden, Tx; stepfather Wilbert Sells of Kountze; sons, Cornell Lee III and wife Nikki of Quero, Tx; Seth Jacob Hancock of Orange; Jasmine Hancock of Beaumont and Cameron Powell of McAllen, Tx; daughter, Endia Powell of McAllen, Tx; brothers, Russell Coffey and Michael Coffey of Beaumont; sisters, Vickie Whitmore, Everine Coffey and Annie Mae McDaniel all of Kountze; nine stepsisters, five stepbrothers and eleven grandchildren.

Imogene Willis Herrington

Funeral services for Imojean Willis Herrington, 75, of Evadale was held at 12 p.m. Friday, June 12, 2015 at New Beginnings Assembly of God in Evadale under the direction of Farmer Funeral Home with interment following at Rest haven Cemetery in Silsbee. Visitation was held Thursday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Herrington passed away June 9, 2015 at her residence. She was a native of Splendora and a longtime resident of Evadale. Mrs. Herrington is preceded in death by her parents John Hamp and Abbie Lee Burrell Willis’ husband Raymond Drew Herrington; brothers Robert Willis, and James Michael Willis; sisters Helen Fay Campbell and Nalene Melancon.

Frances Ann Butler, 76, of Silsbee, diedWednesday, June 3, 2015 at her home. Funeral service was Saturday, June 6 at Broussard’s Mortuary in Silsbee with burial following in R.S. Farmer Memorial Park in Silsbee. A native of Liberty, she worked as an accounting clerk for American Valve and Hydrant. Survivors include her daughters, Ramona Johnson and husband Doug and Sophie Dobbins, all of Silsbee; brothers, Frank Million of Shreveport, Louisiana and A.W. Million of Dallas; sister, Joyce Taylor of Dallas; and two grandchildren.

Michael Hickman

Michael Ray Hickman, 58, of Houston, died Saturday, June 6, 2015 at Houston Hospice Hospital in Houston. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 13 at Hickory Grove Baptist Church in Silsbee with burial following in Hickory Grove Cemetery under the direction of J.B. Coleman Memorial Mortuary in Silsbee. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. the day of service at the church. Anative of Houston, he was a longtime resident of Silsbee before moving to Houston several years ago. He was employed with Wooden Pallets in Silsbee for 25 years. Survivors include daughters, Melissa “NeeNee” Goins and husbandMorgan and Brittany Hickman; son, Michael Ray Hickman Jr.; parents, Perry and Margie Hickman; brothers, David Floers, Perry Lee Hickman, Ronnie Hickman and wife Renae, Tyrone Hickman and wife Linda and Douglas Hickman; sisters, Dawn “Ollie” Hickan and husband Shang Dockery and Arlisia “Lisa” Hickman and husband Fernandes Bolden; and three grandchildren.
