William Archie Parks

William Archie Parks, of Lake Limestone, passed away at Providence Health Center in Waco on Sunday, July 27, 2014, at age 84. Services will be held at 10:00A.M. on Friday,August 1, 2014, in the Groesbeck Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Johnny Layton officiating. Burial will follow in Lost Prairie Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, July 31, 2014, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Groesbeck Funeral Home Chapel. Pallbearers will beWilliam (Chad) Parks, B.J. Rudder, Brent Rudder, Cody Langley, Keith Thompson, and Greg Thompson. Archie was born in Silsbee, where he graduated from high school. He served in the U.S. Army from 1948 through 1952, in North and South Korea, as Master Sgt. Archie worked 32-1/2 years for Shell Chemical in Deer Park. Archie and wife Jimmie moved to Lake Limestone in 1986 and she preceded him in death.

Thelma Castolenia

Thelma Castolenia, 91, of Silsbee, died Sunday, July 27, 2014 at her home. Funeral service was Tuesday, July 29 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with burial following in Hooks Cemetery in Kountze. Anative of San Diego, California and a longtime resident of this area, she was a homemaker. Survivors include son, Robert David and wife Ruby of Beaumont; daughters, Barbara Mitchell and Frances Bentley and husband Craig Kelley, all of Silsbee; brother, William “Bill” Billingsley of San Diego, California; and 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren  and numerous great great-grandchildren.

Gordon McDonald

Funeral services for Gordon McDonald, 82, of Kountze will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday August 1, 2014 at First Baptist Church in Kountze with interment to follow at Old Hardin Cemetery in Kountze. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Thursday July 31, 2014 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee. Mr.McDonald died July 27, 2014 at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont. Gordon was born in Port Neches and was a longtime resident of Kountze. He owned and operated Kountze Pharmacy for 40 years. He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Ella McElroy McDonald; and a brother, Doug McDonald. Survivors include wife, Marilyn McDonald of Kountze; son, Sean McDonald of Kountze; daughter, Heather McDonald of Houston; and grandchildren, Zoey McDonald, Lilly McDonald, and Jaydon McDonald.

Jerry Patrick

Funeral services for Jerry Ray Patrick, 66, of Orange were at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at Farmer Funeral Home with interment following at Antioch Cemetery in Buna. Visitation was from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Mr. Patrick passed away July 27, 2014 at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur. Jerry was a native of Bessmay and a resident of Orange. He was a retired truck driver. Survivors include his wife, Becky Patrick of Orange; son, Donald Ray Patrick of Orange; daughter, Debra Sue Beall of Logansport, Indiana; brother, Jackie Patrick and wifeMary of Shreveport, La.; grandchildren,Austin Patrick, Breanna Patrick and Leah Patrick; nephews Malcolm Patrick and wife Julie, LeRoy Patrick, Jr. as well as several other nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Donald Miller Sr.

Donald Marvin Miller Sr., 72, died Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at his home after an 18- month bout with cancer. Funeral service was held Saturday, Jan 26 at Lumberton Family Funeral Home in Lumberton with burial following in Old Hardin Cemetery in Kountze. Survivors include sons, Donnie Miller and wife Kathleen of Mount Belview and Randy Miller of Baytown; daughter, LauraMiller of Pass Christian, Mississippi; sister, Dianne Riddle and husband Carl of Evans, Georgia; and nine grandchildren.

Charlene Cobb

Charlene Hayes Cobb, 57, of Silsbee and a native of Houston died Tuesday, June 17, 2014. A memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, July 31 at First Methodist Church in Silsbee. Survivors include her husband, Bruce W. Cobb of Vidor; son, Michael Loucks and wife Natalie of California; mother, Opal Odom of Lufkin; sisters, Patsy North of Corpus Christi, NeldaWalters and husband Mike of Deer Park, Gwen Hutton and husband Rollin of Marlin; and Kathy Hilburn and husband Norman of Katy; and three grandchildren.

Richard Gros

Richard Matthew Gros, 47, of Fred, diedWednesday, July 23, 2014 at Dogwood Trails in Woodville. A native of Beaumont, he was a United StatesArmy veteran and worked as a salesman and mechanic for Auto Zone. Survivors include his father, Robert Gros of Kountze; and siblings, Rory Gros of Beaumont, Rhonda Baldwin and husband Steve of Kountze and Roxane Leary and husband Mike of San Leon. Arrangements are pending with Broussard’s Mortuary in Kountze.

Sharon Pickard

Sharon K. Pickard, 59, of Kountze, died Friday, July 25, 2014. Survivors include her husband, Keith Pickard; daughter, Shawna Virva and husband John; son, Brandon Pickard and wife Amberly; brothers, Paul Keahey of Kountze and Michael Bean and wife Sherry of Colmesneil; step-sister, Sheila Schoen and husband Joey of Lumberton; and six grandchildren. A memorial service will be at a later date. Her committal was held at Broussard’s Crematorium in Beaumont.

John Henry Schull, 64, died Friday, July 25, 2014 after a battle with brain and pancreatic cancer. Funeral service was Sunday, July 27 at Lumberton Family Funeral Home with burial following in Leatherwood Cemetery in Loeb. Survivors include daughters, Jamie Schull of Salt Lake City, Utah and Karla Mikeska of Lumberton; son, Jerremy Schull of Lumberton; and brother, Daniel Schull and wife Karrol of Lumberton.

Jerry Bumstead

Funeral services for Jerry W. Bumstead, 49, of Buna were at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at Silsbee Bible Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Tice officiating under the direction of Farmer Funeral Home. Interment followed in Bumstead Cemetery in Lumberton. Visitation began at 5:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Mr. Bumstead died July 16, 2014 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. A native of Beaumont, Jerry was a long time resident of Buna. He worked as a truck driver and mechanic. Mr. Bumstead is preceded in death by his mother, Wanda Bumstead. Survivors include his father, J.W. Bumstead of Buna; brother, Jim Bumstead of Buna; and sister, Sherrie Avery of Buna.
