Shirley Cochran

Shirley Irene Cochran, 75, of Lumberton, died Thursday, June 19, 2014. Visitation was held Tuesday, June 24 at Lumberton Family Funeral Home in Lumberton. A native of Columbus, Ohio, she had worked for several different retail stores. Survivors include daughters, Tina Lee of Lumberton and Elizabeth Taylor and husband Donald of Duck Hill, Mississippi; son, Donald Lee Miller of Thailand; sisters, Barbara McEntire and husband Marvin of Columbus, Ohio and Virginia List and husband John of Zanesville, Ohio; and ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Pate Callaway

Pate Callaway, 87, of Silsbee, diedWednesday, June 25, 2014 at Silsbee Convalescent Center in Silsbee. A graveside service was held Saturday, June 28 at Baker Bell Cemetery under the direction of Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee. A native of Fred and a longtime resident of Silsbee, he worked as an electrician for the Texas Highway Department before retiring. Survivors include sons, John Robert Callaway of Channelview and Carl Lindsey Callaway of Lumberton; daughters, Kathleen Maguire of Slidell, Louisiana and Aileen Berryman of Baytown; and six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Charlene Cobb

Charlene Hayes Cobb, 57, of Silsbee and a native of Houston died Tuesday, June 17, 2014. Survivors include her husband, Bruce W. Cobb of Vidor; son, Michael Loucks and wife Natalie of California; mother, Opal Odom of Lufkin; sisters, Patsy North of Corpus Christi, Nelda Walters and husband Mike of Deer Park, Gwen Hutton and husband Rollin of Marlin; and Kathy Hilburn and husband Norman of Katy; and three grandchildren. mother, Regina Ruth Reither of Grapeland; father, Kenneth Austin Keller of Round Rock; brothers, Aaron Scott Keller of Kyle, Rick Prince of Dallas, and Curt Caveness of Grapeland. Committal was held Saturday, June 28 at Broussard’s Crematorium in Beaumont under the direction of Broussard’s Mortuary in Kountze. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Juanita Jean Knox, 84, of Kountze and a native of Batesville, Arkansas, died Saturday, June 14, 2014. Funeral service was Tuesday, June 17 at Broussard's Mortuary in Kountze with burial following in Salem Cemetery in Lovelady. Survivors include daughter, BrendaWright and husband Tom of Kountze; son, Donnie Knox and wife Trish of Alba; and two grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren.

MaurineAlford, 83, of Tenaha, Texas died Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at her home. Funeral services were at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 23, atAdams EE Stringer Funeral Home in Buna with burial at Antioch Cemetery in Buna.Visitation was 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral Home. Born July 3, 1930 at Plainview Community in Sabine County to Nancy Lillie Bell Smith and WilliamMcGowen, she had lived most of her life in Evadale and Buna and in Tenaha 10 years. She was a retired 3rd grade teacher at Evadale Elementary School with 34 years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband, Junior Alford; and parents, William and Lillie Mc- Gowen. Survivors are numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.

Thomas Jackson Jr.

Thomas "Tom" Jackson Jr., 86, of Beaumont, died Sunday, June 22, 2014 at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont. Agraveside service was held at 11 a.m. today (Wednesday, June 25) at Felps Cemetery in Thicket. A native of Groves Point, Michigan, he was a United States Navy World War II veteran and owned and operated Braesoaks Hardware. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Jackson; children, Leslie Farrell of Michigan, Susie Velichko of Cincinnati, Ohio, Thomas Jackson III and wife Sheri of Pinkerton, Mississippi, Toni Groselle of Frisco, Stephanie Norman and husband William of Kountze and Kimberly Bonura and husband Mike ofVidor; sister, Phyllis Corson of Merritt Island, Florida; brother, Robert Jackson and wife Janice of Michigan; and 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
