Betty O’Bannion

Betty Ruth Kinsala O’Bannion, 89, of Lumberton, died Saturday, June 27, 2015 at her home. A graveside service was Tuesday, June 30 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont under the direction of Broussard’s Mortuary in Beaumont. A native of Palmer, she was a longtime resident of Lumberton. Survivors include daughter, Beverly Hooks and husband Roy of Lumberton; son, Drake O’Bannion and wife Bridget of Lumberton; and eight grandchildren and nine greatgrandchildren.

Doris Rogers

Funeral services for Doris Elva Rogers, 62, of Warren were at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 29, 2015 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with interment following at Richardson Cemetery. Visitation was from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Mrs. Rogers passed away June 24, 2015 near Colmesneil. A native of Beaumont, Doris was a longtime Warren resident. She was a graduate of Warren High School and Lamar University and was a substitute teacher with Kountze ISD. She is preceded in death by her parents, Nathan and Jewel McGowan. Survivors include husband of 22 years, Aubrey Rogers of Warren; sons, David Allen Monteaux, Jr. and wife Melissa of Wildwood and Chad Anthony Monteaux and wife Charlena of Nederland; daughters, Lisa Moore and husband Chris of Kirbyvilleand Amy Powers and husband John of Jourdanton; brothers, Tom D.

Pat Beard

Masonic graveside services for Samuel Arwin “Pat” Beard, 97, of Silsbee will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 3, 2015 at Campground Cemetery in Woodville under the direction of Farmer Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Mr. Beard passed away June 23, 2015 at Arboretum of Winnie Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Pat was a native of Kirbyville and a longtime resident of Silsbee. He was a retired salesman. He is preceded in death by his parents James and Ada Beard; wife Irene Beard and brothers Turk Beard and Homer Beard. Survivors include sons, Lonnie Beard and wife Edie of Dayton and Tommy Beard of Silsbee; sisters, Bonnie Carter of Belton and Blanche Richardson of Kirbyville; grandchildren Ashley Freithe, Lonise Lawrence and Jeremy Beard and five great grandchildren.

Sue Sirmons

Funeral services for Sue Sirmons, 88, of Silsbee were at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at Farmer Funeral Home with interment following at Antioch Cemetery in Buna. Visitation was from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Sirmons passed away June 27, 2015 at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont. Sue was a native of Elizabeth, Louisiana and a longtime Silsbee resident. She was a homemaker She is preceded in death by her parents Leonard and Lillie Caldwell; husband James “Sonny” Sirmons and sisters Betty Lou McBride and Alice Joy Massey. Survivors include son, Lonnie Sirmons and wife Brenda of Silsbee; daughter, Glenda Sue Dennis and husband LeRoy of Corpus Christi; and six grandchildren Carla Messina, Michelle Johnson, James Littlepage, Michael Sirmons, Amanda Brown and Cody Sirmons.

Emma Glenn

Our mother, Emma Dean Glenn, 87, passed from us into the arms of her dear Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 23, 2015. She had a long and hard battle against disease but no more. Her father and mother, Van and Emma Sturrock, had died a number of years ago. Also her husband, Nemmie Glenn had died last year. She is survived by her two children, her son Thomas Lloyd Bell and wife Patricia; and her daughter Melinda Bell Cook and husband Rufus. Also she had four grandchildren Kathryn Hope Cook, Christopher Stuart Bell, Nicholas Andrew Bell, and Jennifer Lauren Bell and four great grandchildren Ayden Chase Bell, Emma Rose Bell, MacKenzie Shuff, Tristin Bell and Brooklynn Bell, each of whom was dear and precious to her, and many friends and family.

Patsy Jean Whitmire, 59, of Silsbee and a native of Pascagoula, Mississippi, died Wednesday, June 17, 2015. Funeral service was Saturday, June 20 at Broussard’s Mortuary in Silsbee with burial following in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont. Survivors include her daughter, Jennifer Lynn Tackett of Evadale; mother, Helen Dunaway of Silsbee; siblings, Larry Charles Dunaway and wife Kathi of Call, and Janice Plaunty and husband Albert and Keith Dunaway and wife Melinda, all of Silsbee; and two grandchildren.

Robert Neely

Robert Dale Neely, 66, of Vidor died Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, June 26 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with burial following in Franks Branch Cemetery in Fred. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. at the funeral home. A native of Kirbyville, he had had lived in Vidor 25 years and was a retired pipefitter out of Local 195. Survivors include his daughter, Rodona Neely of Nederland; brothers, Sammy Neely and wife Henri of Vidor, Norman Neely and wife Carol of Lumberton and George Neely and wife Beth of Hemphill; half-brother, Eddie Neely of Beaumont; sisters, Carolyn Tucker of Lumberton, Delores Atkinson and husband Carter of Fairmont, and Debra McKinley and husband Bradley and Verna “Tutti” Price and husband Charles “Bimbo”, all of Lumberton; and one grandchild.

Earl Shaver

Earl Shaver, 76, of Silsbee, died Sunday, June 21, 2015 at his home. A native of Burkeville, he was a longtime resident of Woodville before moving to Spurger about a year ago. He was a self-employed tree trimmer. Survivors include his wife, Doris Shaver of Spurger; sons, Earl Henry Shaver of Kentucky and Ira Steven Shaver of St. Claire, Florida; daughters, Mary Christine Creel and Janet Renee Shaver Dayton, both of Silsbee and Kimberly Dawn Shaver Essary of Spurger; brother, Carl Shaver of Jasper; and 16 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren. Cremation was entrusted with Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee. Arrangements for a memorial service will be made at a later date.

Billy Simmons Sr.

Billy Ray Simmons Sr., 61, of Lumberton, died Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at Winnie Community Hospital in Winnie. Funeral service was Saturday, June 20 at Broussard’s Mortuary in Kountze. Committal will be at Broussard’s Crematorium in Beaumont. A native of Kountze, he worked as a machinist with Riverside Machine Shop in Kountze. Survivors included his son, Billy “Little Billy” Simmons Jr. of Lumberton; brothers, Jimmy Simmons of Silsbee, Eddie Simmons of Livingston, and Tony Simmons and wife Nadine of Lumberton; sister, Nola Coleman of Kountze; and two grandchildren.

Donald Monson

Funeral service for Donald David Monson was at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday June 23, 2015 at Farmer Funeral Home with interment following at Morse Cemetery in Buna. Visitation was Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Monson was a native of Port Arthur and a longtime resident of Buna. Donald was a retired construction worker, and a member of the Buna Volunteer Fire Department. He is preceded in death by his parents A. J. and Reona Jones Monson; and brothers Bobby Monson and Ronald Monson. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Carol Bean Monson of Buna; sons, Donald David Monson Jr. and wife Lula and Robert Arthur Joseph Monson, both of Buna; daughters, Dawn Renee Monson and Christiana Diana Nicole Monson, both of Buna; brother, Melvin Monson of Independence, Louisiana; and one grandchild Fatima Mirama Moberg of Baytown.
