Margaret Priest

Margaret “Maggie” L. Priest, 63, of Lumberton, died Thursday, April 9, 2015 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. A native of Shreveport, Louisiana, she worked for Brock Enterprises for many years before retirement. Survivors include her husband, Pete Priest; sons, Trey Priest and wife Erin and Danny Priest and wife Tara, all of Lumberton; brother, Kenneth Prim and wife Carolyn of Bossier City, Louisiana; and four grandchildren.

Cary Allen Crabb, 42, of Kountze, died Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at his home. Funeral service was Tuesday, April 14 at Roadside-Memorial Baptist Church in Saratoga with burial following in Old Hardin Cemetery in Kountze under the direction of Faith & Family Funeral Services in Batson. Survivors include his wife, Belynda Crabb of Kountze.

Emily Joyce Harris Mitchell, 72, of Silsbee, died Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at Silsbee Oaks Health Care. Funeral service was Saturday, April 11 at Lakeside Apostolic Church in Town Bluff with burial following in Lakeside Cemetery under the direction of Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee. A native of China, Texas, she was a longtime resident of Silsbee. Survivors include stepson, Jimmy K. Mitchell of Pensacola; stepdaughter, Linda Marie Bertrand of Evadale; brother, Bob Harris of Lumberton; and sister, Linda Harris of Lumberton.

Rudolph Elizondo

Rudolph “Rudy” Elizondo, 93, of Bridge City, died Saturday, April 11, 2015 at Cypress Glen Nursing and Rehabilitation in Port Arthur. He was a United States 8th Air Force MilitaryWorldWar II veteran and had been a car salesman with Linn’s Toyota in Groves. Survivors include his wife of 73 years, Aurora Martinez Elizondo; sons, Tony and wife Sondra of Buna, Richard and Sandy of Silsbee, Ronald and wife Paula of Port Arthur and Rudy Jr. and wife Deanna of Bridge City; daughters, Nancy and husbandMichael Pearson of Groves and Susan Thibodeaux of Groves; and 15 grandchildren and 19 greatgrandchildren. For funeral arrangements, Mr. Elizondo has requested a private family gathering after cremation.

Christopher Thomas Avery, 36, of Lumberton, died Sunday, April 5, 2015. Funeral service was Friday, April 10 at Calvary Baptist Church in Beaumont with burial following in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, also in Beaumont. He graduated from Woodville High School and later earned an associate degree at Lamar. He served with the Beaumont Fire Department for 15 years. Survivors include his wife of nine years,AngelaAvery of Lumberton; son, Nate Avery of Lumberton; mother, Ann Morrison; stepchildren, Aondrea Dalatte of Lumberton, Jace Delatte of Groves and Donny Delatte and wife Lindsey of Sabine Pass; and two grandchildren.

Penny Marie Carroll, 58, of Silsbee, died Sunday, April 12, 2015 at her home. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 18 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with burial following in Franks Branch Cemetery in Fred. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. A native of Orange and a longtime resident of Silsbee, she worked as a drywall contractor. Survivors include her husband, David Carroll of Silsbee; daughters, Stacy Scott of Mauriceville, Tracy Eubanks of Orange and Aubrey Trotti of North Carolina; stepson, Dustin Carroll of Silsbee; brothers, Tommy Swarers and Gary Swarers, both of Washington; sister, Leesa Gearen of Mauriceville; and eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Jessie Lee Yawn, 83, of Fred, died Saturday, April 11, 2015 at Silsbee Convalescent Center. Funeral service was Tuesday, April 14 at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church in Fred with burial following in Franks Branch Cemetery under the direction of Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee. A native of Port Arthur, she had lived in Fred 48 years and was a housewife. She was a member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughters, Bridget Phillips and husband Buddy of Warren, Linda Yawn and Pam Yawn, both of Fred and Stephanie Richmond and husband Cody of Lumberton; sisters, Nida L. Garrett of Port Neches, Mildred L. Thibodeaux and husband Albert of LaBelle and Carol Ann Sheffield of West Columbia; and four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
