Wayde Chance

Funeral services for Arlon Wayde Chance, 52, of Fred were at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at Farmer Funeral Home with interment following at Franks Branch Cemetery in Fred. Visitation began at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday until service time at the funeral home. Mr. Chance passed away May 24, 2014 in Jasper County. Wayde was born in Woodville and was a lifelong resident of Fred. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and was a friend to everyone he met. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for Will Call Services. Survivors include his parents, Lawrence Arlon and Sally Louise Smith Chance of Fred; son, Allyn Chance of Fred; daughter, Chassity Chance of Fred; and brothers, Aaron Chance of Fred, Chuck Chance and wife Karen of Silsbee and Darrell Chance and wife Kathy of Fred. Wayde will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Mara Budke

Mara Jade Budke, infant daughter of Jenna Myers and Benjamin Budke of Silsbee was born Saturday, May 17, 2014 and passed away May 18, 2014 at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston. A graveside service was held Friday,May 23 at 10 a.m. at Franks Branch Cemetery in Fred under the direction of Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee. Survivors other than her parents include brother, Malachi Budke; twin sister, Maya June Budke; grandparents, Malcolm and Tammy Myers and Henry and Mary Budkey, all of Silsbee; and great-grandparents, Jack and Elaine Gore and Eugene and Iris Myers, all of Silsbee.

John Carmona

John Carmona, 63, ofWildwood, died Wednesday, May 21, 2014 in Beaumont from complications of ALS. Funeral service was Saturday, May 24 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Kountze under the direction of Broussard’s Mortuary, also in Kountze with burial following in Village Mills Cemetery in Village Mills. A native of Beaumont, he was a United States Marine veteran and worked for the United States Postal Service for 33 years and retired as Postmaster in Vidor in 2007. Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Carolyn; son, Chris Carmona and wife Sabrina; daughter, Lori Yates and husband Scott; and two brothers, five sisters, and three grandchildren.

Douglas Reeves

Douglas Wade Reeves, 60, of Silsbee, died Saturday,May 24, 2014 at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont. Funeral service was Tuesday, May 27 atAbundant Life Pentecostal Church in Silsbee with burial following in Resthaven Cemetery under the direction of Broussard’s Mortuary, also in Silsbee.  Survivors include his sister, Joy Mason of Silsbee; and brothers, Dennie Paul Reeves and wife Patricia of Orange and William David Reeves and wife Ethel May of Silsbee.

Visitation for Charlotte Jean Benton Bowden, 38, of Silsbee were from 10:00 a.m. until noon, Wednesday, May 28, 2014 with a memorial service following at 4:00 p.m. at Farmer Funeral Home. Ms. Bowden died May 24, 2014 in Jasper County. Born in Galveston, Charlotte was a long time resident of Silsbee. She worked as a housekeeper for Pinewood Inn. Ms. Bowden is preceded in death by her father, Glen Benton; sister, Virginia Christine Benton; and grandmother, Florence ElizabethWright. Survivors include her mother, Ginger Benton Mayberry of Silsbee; son, Christian Bowden of Nacogdoches; daughter, Destiny Bowden of Fred; brothers, Anthony Weaver and wife Renee and Chad Benton, both of Jasper; and sisters, Glenda Hancock and husband Kevin of Tyler, Leslie Nicole Thompson and husband Kenneth of Lufkin and EricaWelch and husband George of Broaddus.

Brenda Miller, 67, of Silsbee, died Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont. A native of Fred, she was a longtime resident of this area. She was employed with Huffman I.S.D. before retiring. Survivors include her husband, GeorgeAlbert Miller of Silsbee; sons, Tracy Andrews and Charles Andrews Jr. of Evadale; daughter, SheilaAndrews of Evadale; brother, John Reed of Lufkin; sisters, Betty Reed of Silsbee and Linda Freeman of Bessmay; and six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral service may be held at a later date.

CharlotteAnn KirbyViguet, 67, of Beaumont, died Tuesday, May 20, 2014. Funeral service was Saturday, May 24 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with burial following in Forest LawnMemorial Park in Beaumont. Born and raised in Silsbee, she lived in Beaumont most of her adult life. She was employed by Entergy and was a tax preparer for Gayle Botley CPA before retiring. Preceding Charlotte in death were her parents, James M. Kirby Sr. and Juanita Frazier Richardson; husband, Don Viguet Jr.; and sister, Lisa Blincoe. Survivors include brothers, James M. Kirby Jr. and wife Kay of Town Bluff, and Van Richardson and wife Joni and Mike Richardson and wife Debbie, all of Silsbee; and sisters, Cathy Johnson and husband Johnny and Robbie Marshall and husband Aaron, all of Silsbee.
