David Mattox Jr.

David “Duck” Mattox Jr., 63, of Silsbee, died Sunday, July 5, 2015. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 11 at New Hope Church of God in Christ in Silsbee with Daryl Gilbert Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Kirby Cemetery in Silsbee under the direction of Robinson Funeral Home. Survivors include sons, Tyrone Mattox and Jon Mattox, both of Silsbee and Jerrod Mattox of Kirbyville; daughters, Selena Mattox of Dallas and Michelle Mattox of Austin; companion Jeanette Kemp of Silsbee; step-sons, Keith Kemp and Ricky Jackson, both of Silsbee; brothers, Lonnie Willis of Silsbee and Walter Collins of Beaumont; sister, Pearlie Mae Dotson of Beaumont; and numerous grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.

Dot Walker

Doris Marie “Dot” David Walker passed away on June 30th, 2015 in Houston, Texas. Dot was born on September 28th, 1923 to Jake and Hannah David in Silsbee, Texas and was the youngest of ten children. She was a life long resident of Silsbee until she moved to Houston in 2012 to be near her children. Dot was a member of the First United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school to four and five year-olds for fifty years. She was also a member of the Silsbee Garden Club and the Order of the Eastern Star for over fifty years. Dot was an avid gardener and maintained a vegetable garden every year. She loved to travel and be the center of the party. Dot worked at Silsbee Drug Co. and went on to work for Dr. George Tennison, where she earned her LVN license, and was also a teacher’s aid for Silsbee ISD. She was admired and well known throughout the community where the many children she taught in church and school affectionately knew her as “Mrs.

Maurice Vickery

Maurice “Joe” Vickery, 64, of Kountze, died Thursday, June 25, 2015. A native of Beaumont, he was a United States Army veteran and a retired narcotic officer. Survivors include his wife, Pat Vickery; sons, Chris Vickery and wife Kim of Silsbee and Mark Vickery and wife Michele of Colorado; stepchildren, Deborah Walker and husband Wayne of Vidor, Mike Laird and wife Jill of Kountze and Terri Neuville and husband Terry of Baton Rouge; sister, Delores Bares and husband Johnny of Beaumont; and ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Committal was handled by Broussard’s Crematorium in Beaumont.

Rosanna Kroemeke

Funeral services for Rosanna Marie Faraci Kroemeke, 69, of Lumberton were at 2:00 p.m. Saturday June 27, 2015 at St. Mark Catholic Church in Silsbee under the direction of Farmer Funeral Home with interment following at R.S. Farmer Cemetery. Visitation was Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with the Rosary starting at 7:00 p.m. Mrs. Kroemeke passed away at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont on Wednesday June 24, 2015. She was a native of Beaumont and a longtime resident of Lumberton. She was a retired phlebotomist at St. Elizabeth Hospital. Mrs. Kroemeke is preceded in death by her parents Salvadore and Marinel Galiano Faraci; husband Ferdinand Kroemeke; and brother Vincent Faraci. Survivors include son Eric Kroemeke and wife Allison of Lumberton; daughters Catherine Kroemeke of Lumberton and Angela Kroemeke of Beaumont; brother Salvadore Faraci of Beaumont; sister Marinel Bruemer of California; and five grandchildren Christopher, Joseph, Zachary, Autumn and Alexis.

Timberlee Gossett

Timberlee Kaye Gossett, 22, of Kountze, died Wednesday, June 24, 2015. Funeral service was Sunday, June 28 at Corner Stone Baptist Church in Kountze with burial following in Herrington- Hart Cemetery in Kountze under the direction of Broussard’s Mortaury, also in Kountze. Born in Beaumont, she was a 2011 graduate of Kountze High School, attended Stephen F. Austin University and worked at Wal-Mart in Lumberton. Survivors include her mother, Kayce Gossett Richardson; grandfather, Jerry Morgan of Kountze; and grandmother, Linda Gossett of Orange.

Colleen Bonnin

Colleen Alexa Bonnin, 45, of Silsbee, died Saturday, June 27, 2015. Amemorial service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 3 at Broussard’s Mortuary in Silsbee. Her committal was held at Broussard’s Crematorium in Beaumont. A native of Beaumont, she worked for Better Bail Bonds. Survivors include her son, Lee Thomas Bonnin of Beaumont; mother, Marlene Wood of Silsbee; sisters, Suzanne Sherrill of Lake Charles, Donna Wood of Riverside, California, Julia Dapasqule and husband Don of Houston and Sheila Busceme and husband Greg of Beaumont; stepdaughter, Emily Bonnin; and one step-grandchild.

Jewel McGowan

Funeral services for Jewel Denson McGowan, 95, of Warren were at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 29, 2015 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with interment following at Richardson Cemetery. Visitation was from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Mrs. McGowan passed away June 24, 2015 near Colmesneil. A native of Big Sandy, Jewel was longtime resident of Warren. She was a homemaker. She is preceded in death by parents Samuel James and Elva Freeman Denson, husband Nathan Charles Mc- Gowan, Jr.; daughter Doris Elva Rogers and sisters Lucy Howell, Eva Shandley, Lois Seaman and Lillian Hoffman. Survivors include sons, Tom McGowan and wife Charlotte of Beaumont, Wayne Mc- Gowan and wife Karen of Warren and Dwight Mc- Gowan and wife Kristie of Tyler; daughter, Jean Moffett of Birmingham, Alabama; grandchildren Tommy D.

Betty Ruth Kinsala O’Bannion, 89, of Lumberton, died Saturday, June 27, 2015 at her home. A graveside service was Tuesday, June 30 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont under the direction of Broussard’s Mortuary in Beaumont. A native of Palmer, she was a longtime resident of Lumberton. Survivors include daughter, Beverly Hooks and husband Roy of Lumberton; son, Drake O’Bannion and wife Bridget of Lumberton; and eight grandchildren and nine greatgrandchildren.

Visitation was from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Mrs. Rogers passed away June 24, 2015 near Colmesneil. A native of Beaumont, Doris was a longtime Warren resident. She was a graduate of Warren High School and Lamar University and was a substitute teacher with Kountze ISD. She is preceded in death by her parents, Nathan and Jewel McGowan.
