Chuck Coy

Clair Lavern “Chuck” Coy, 85, of Kountze, died Monday, March 16, 2015 at his home. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, March 20 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee. Anative ofArlington, South Dakota, he retired from the United States Air Force and was a member of the VFW, American Legion, and the Senior Citizens All Together (SCAT) Club. Survivors include sons, Dwight Coy of Oklahoma and Arthur Coy of Florida; daughters, Theresa Breaux of Kountze and Darcie Malone of Moore, Oklahoma; and 11 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Foye Johnston

Foye Johnston, 80, of Kountze, died Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at Pine Arbor Heathcare Center in Silsbee. Funeral service was Friday, March 13 at Broussard’sMortuary in Kountze with burial following in Old Hardin Cemetery in Kountze. A native of Apple Springs, he was a United States Army veteran and a retired roustabout. Survivors include his children, Mary Riggs and Billy Johnston, both of Kountze, Sheila Johnson of Big Spring, Linda Turner of Christine, and Brenda Avila of Statesville, North Carolina; numerous grandchildren and greatgrandchildren; and siblings, Maudine Burrows, Carolyn Brown and husband Jacky, and Prentice Johnston, all of Kountze, Laverne Glover and husband Esker of Silsbee, Charlotte Brown and husband Don of Saratoga, and H.D. Johnston and wife Beth of Wells.

Charles “Charlie” Ellis Golden, 60, of Kountze, died Monday, March 9, 2015. Agraveside service was Friday, March 13 at VillageMills Cemetery under the direction of Broussard’s Mortuary in Kountze. Survivors include his siblings, Kay Golden, Denny Golden, Joyce Dingman, Anna Golden, Judy Kelly, Barbara Golden, David Golden, Mike Golden and Tracy Bartick.

Betty Sue Whittington Locke, 69, of Lumberton, died Friday, March 13, 2015 at her home. A memorial service was Sunday, March 15 at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Honey Island under the direction of Lumberton Family Funeral Home in Lumberton. Survivors include her children, Kimberly Hemby and husband Steve and Joey Dee Whittington, both of Kountze; sister, Nelda Ellis of Lumberton; and four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Lamar Wheeler, 67, of San Antonio, died Sunday, March 8, 2015 at his home. Funeral service was Wednesday, March 11 at Porter LoringMortuary in San Antonio.An additional funeral service was Thursday, March 12 at Broussard’sMortuary in Kountze with burial following in Old Hardin Cemetery, also in Kountze. A native of Silsbee, he retired from U.S.A.A. of San Antonio and Gulf States Utilities Company, where he was employed as a computer programmer. Survivors include brother, DavidWheeler of Shiner; sister, Denise Wheeler of Cypress; and stepson, Justin Rachal.

Michael Atchison

Michael Delbert Atchison, 69, of Lumberton, died Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at his home. Funeral service was Saturday March 14 at Lumberton Family Funeral Home in Lumberton with burial following in Trout Creek Cemetery. A United States Air Force veteran, he worked in auto sales and later he was an assistant manager of the Pizza Hut in Port Arthur. Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Sandra Gail Atchison of Lumberton; son, David Atchison of Lumberton; daughter, Karen Wolfe and husband Jonas of Friendswood; brother, Ronnie Atchison and wife Laverne of Old Salem; and three grandchildren.

Betty Elaine Eason Ricks, 58, of Orange died Friday, March 13, 2015 at her home. Funeral service was Tuesday, March 17 at Full Gospel Evangelistic Temple in Silsbee with burial following in Cunningham Cemetery in Silsbee under the direction of Farmer Funeral Home, also in Silsbee. A native of Silsbee and a lifelong resident of this area, she was the manager of Shrimpboat Seafood. Survivors include her husband, Larkin Ricks of Orange; sons, Billy Ricks and wife Kara and Jerry Ricks and wife Faith, all of Bridge City; daughter, LisaMarie Bozyone and husband Jonathan of Silsbee; brothers, Virgil Eason and David Eason, both of Silsbee; sisters, Ellie Mae Brown of Silsbee, Glenda Sue Nolan of Caney Head, Patricia Ann Hopkins of Livingston and Diane Eason of Silsbee; and eight grandchildren.

Mary Alice Robinson Pearson

Mary Alice Robinson Pearson, 78, of Buna Bessmay area, died Friday, March 6, 2015 at Harbor Hospice. Funeral service will be at 12 noon Saturday, March 14 at Buna United Pentecostal Church under the direction of  Robinson Funeral Home. She worked at Buna Medical Center.  Survivors include daughters,Tammy Mitchell White  of Buna and Irene Garrett ofSilsbee; sons, GereldMitchell and Greg Mitchell, both of Silsbee, Gary Mitchell and Kevin Pearson, both of Buna, and Delvin Pearson of Beaumont; sisters, Emma Turk and Dorothy Robinson, both of Buna, and Shelia Raquemore of Silsbee; and brother, Charles Robinson of Baytown.

Lavonda Marie Benoit, 54, of Silsbee, died Saturday, March 7, 2015. Survivors include her daughters, Keisha Warner of Buna and Kimberly Viasana of Port Arthur; brothers, David Craft and George Craft;  sisters, Detria Craft, Sarah Johansson, Rita Lee, Brenda  raft, Melissa Beaver and  Rachel Gutierrez; and three grandchildren. Funeral service was Tuesday, March 10 at 7:30 p.m. Committal was held at Broussard’s Crematorium in Beaumont.
