Silsbee Tigers drop 1-0 decision to Jasper after rains wipe out tourney

Ethan Dunn was on themound for the Tigers during their win over Orangefield. The stout freshman is developing into one of the Tigers better pitchers. Orangefield scored two in the last inning to cut the final margin to 7-6. The Tigers have a lot of young players on this years team. Still it appears that they have an excellent chance of extending their string of play off appearances.
Last week, the Silsbee Tiger baseball team was scheduled to play in the Jasper tournament. Rain and wet conditions put a damper on the tournament and when it was all done, the Tigers had a singlegame against Jasper.
This game quickly turned into a pitchers duel with neither team scoring in the first four innings. Jasper finally picked up a run in the bottom of the fifth and the Bulldogs made that run stand up for a 1- 0 victory. Silsbee had no runs on four hits and no errors. Jasper scored one run on five hits and no errors.
