Tigers drop LCM in pitching dual

The Silsbee Tigers played only one game last week that that game resulted in a crucial 2-0 win over Little Cypress-Mauriceville that left the Tigers near the top of the standing in District 24-4A. Neither team scored in the game for five innings. Then in the bottom of the sixth inning, Silsbee broke through for two runs.

Lady Rebels continue diamond dominance

The Evadale Lady Rebels continue marching through district mercy ruling team after team along the way. Twice last week the Lady Rebels ended their games early and stand alone as the district champions.

Kountze remains contender in district standings

The Kountze Lions remain in contention in District 23-3A after a 6-3 victory over Kirbyville on Friday. Kountze (12-7, 8-2 in Dist. 23-3A) used its muscle at the plate racking up seven hits against two Kirbyville pitchers.

Evadale A team wins district meet

The Evadale Boys A team scored 185 points to score a one sided win at the district track meet last week. West Hardin followed in second place with 118.5 points. They were followed in order by Hull Daisetta 91.5, Sabine Pass 79, Colmesneil 67, Devers 19, and Big Sandy 14.

WOS Mustangs kick Tigers with Second inning outburst, 5-3

West Orange Stark jumped on the Silsbee Tigers for five early runs and then held on to claim a 5-3 victory. The loss for the Tigers came on a night in which they were out-hit 9-2. WOS picked up one run in the first inning and then added four more in the second.

Lady Lions battle hard but drop two games

The Kountze Lady Lions dropped a pair of real tough hard played games this week. Friday they were defeated by Deweyville in a 3-1 game. Kountze hit the ball well and played good defense.They kept hitting the ball at  the middle of the infield and Deweyville’s shortstop responded with good play after good play. She would knock down hard to reach balls and throw the runner out at first every time the Lions had a scoring opportunity.

Lions tied for first in 23-3A

The standings in Division 23-3A went into turmoil last week when the Warren Warriors upset the Kountze Lions leaving both team in a tie for first with Buna at 5-1. Warren has proven to be the surprise team of the year. They now have the best overall record in the district at 11- 4. Hardin is in fourth place at 4-2 and one of the expected contenders for the district crown, Kirbyville is in a distant tie with Anahuac for fifth at 2-4. East Chambers is 1-5 and Deweyville is 0-6.

Tigers outhit Bridge City

The Silsbee Tigers loaded the bases with no one out and pushed across two runs in the  bottom of the sixth inning to upset a highly regarded Bridge City baseball team last  Tuesday. The real story of the day was the outstanding pitching performance by Chase Partain for the Tigers

Silsbee junior finishes second at state

Silsbee junior earned a silver medal after finishing in second place at the Texas High School Powerlifting state meet in Abilene. Patrick Hudson, a Baylor football commit, lifted a total of 1,800 pounds for second place in the super heavyweight category of Division 2.

Rebels ten run High Island

Evadale claimed an 11-1 victory over High Island in a six inning game in Evadale on Friday. The High Island Cardinals took the lead in the first inning when their lead off hitter Chris Durnell got on base with a single. Brian LeBlanc followed with a single and then Durnell  cored on an outfield fly.
