Silsbee wins coin flip for no. 1 seed in 24-4A

The Silsbee Tigers were in a bit of a pickle after falling to Hardin-Jefferson early last week in an unusual run-rule game. But as fast as things fell apart, the Tigers never looked back at the loss and pulled out a 5-2 win over West Orange- Stark on Friday to help its cause.

Lions stay in race with pair of 7-1 wins

The Kountze Lions won a pair of games 7-1 over Warren and 7-1 over East Chambers to clinch a position in the 2016 baseball playoffs. The Lions appear to be in third place in the district but they face two critical opponents this week. They played Deweyville on Tuesday and will play Buna on Friday.

The Silsbee Lady Tigers remain in second place in District 24-4A after topping Orangefield on Friday night. Silsbee (18-5, 7-2) got six runs in the third inning to help defeat the Lady Bobcats 7-6.

Tigers open second half of district play winning fourth in a row

The Silsbee Tigers pulled out a stunning win over the league leading West Orange- Stark Mustangs on Tuesday, April 5 to remain in good position in District 24-4A. Silsbee (9-7, 5-2) remain in third in the district, one game behind Bridge City after the Tigers defeated Orangefield on Friday.

SHS boys win three events

The Silsbee boys won both the 4x100 meter and 4x200 meter relays at the LCM Track meet on April 1st. Travious Grubbs, Westin Avera, Tre Lowe and Kalon Barnes combined to run both of the Relays. They ran the 400 meter relay in 43.70. Which barely defeated WOS at 44.0.
