A driver of a Dodge Ram pickup failed to stop when approaching the intersection of Hwy. 96 and FM 421 in Lumberton at around 6 p.m. on Tuesday and crashed into a GMC pickup stopped at the intersecton causing a chain reaction.

As many as four vehicles were damaged in the accident. Five people were transported to Beaumont hospitals. No word on the extent of injuries.
