City of Silsbee begins work on upcoming warrant round up
Print

The City of Silsbee announces the kick off of a three part warrant roundup. The roundup is planned as a means to clear up many of the warrants that have been issued or are still active since the last warrant roundup in 2008.

Traditionally, the best time of year for a warrant collection has been during tax season.

Part one of the plan begins with advanced warning of the roundup. This will give anyone with an outstanding warrant a chance to pay it without being arrested. In addition, those names will not be published in the newspaper.

Part two will begin the third week of February with an alphabetical listing published in the Silsbee Bee of the names of people with warrants in the Silsbee Municipal Court. About 500 names will be published per issue.

Part three of the roundup will begin after all names have been published and will involve law enforcement officials actively searching out those people who have not cleared their outstanding warrants.

For those individuals interested in learning if they have outstanding warrants, call Silsbee Municipal Court at 409-385-7991.
