Nancy Bass, 64, of Newton passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2010.
Funeral services were held Friday, April 2 at Adams E.E. Stringer Funeral Home in Kirbyville with burial at Bean Cemetery in Kirbyville.
A native of Port Arthur, she had lived in Bleakwood for 19 years.
Survivors include her husband, Grover W. Bass of Newton; children, Bobby Johnson and wife Michelle of Newton, Terry Bass and husband Harold of Orangefield, Kenneth Johnson of Newton, Tracy Webb of Orangefield, Carol Lea Bass of Beaumont, Richard Bass and wife Dena of Kirbyville, Elbert Ray Bass (Jordan and Ember) of Buna, Grover Allen Bass and wife Stormy of Buna and David Bass of Buna; brothers, Kenneth Ferguson of Center and Royce Ferguson of Jaoquin; sisters, Margie Coleman of Kirbyville, Debbie Jones of Orangefield, Judy Pollock of Mauriceville and Inda Meyers of Shreveport, Louisiana; aunt and uncle, Pat and Carol Cudd of Spurger; 17 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
KENNETH BEAN
Kenneth Bean, 71, of Call passed away Saturday, April 3, 2010 at his home.
Funeral services were held Monday, April 5 at Trout Creek Baptist Church with burial at Trout Creek Cemetery under the direction of Adams E.E. Stringer Funeral Home in Kirbyville.
A native and lifelong resident of Call, he was a retired car salesman for Weaver Motors in Kirbyville and he was a U.S. Army veteran.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Buddy Bean.
Survivors include his wife, Bernice Bean of Call; son, Farron Bean of Call; daughter, Vicki Hall of Newton; brother, Fred Bean of Jasper; sisters, Ada Goins of Vidor, Annie Nell Doughty of Jena, Louisiana and Darlene England of Jasper; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
JAMES E. LUCKEY
James E. Luckey, 81, of Buna passed away Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at his home.
Graveside services were held Friday, April 2 at Antioch Cemetery in Buna under the direction of Adams E.E. Stringer Funeral Home in Buna.
A 5-year resident of Buna, he was a retired logger.
Survivors include his sons, John Luckey, James Luckey, and Joe Luckey, all of Buna; daughters, Betty Curry of Buna and Tracy Luckey of Florida; brothers, Jack Manchac and Pat Manchac, both of Kirbyville; sister, Betty Cash of Orange; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
ROBERT L. STARNES
“BOB”
Robert L. Starnes, 78, passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2010.
Graveside services were held Saturday, April 3 at Kirbyville Cemetery under the direction of Adams E.E. Stringer Funeral Home in Kirbyville.
He was born in Call on November 11, 1931 to Robert L. and Mamie Collins Starnes. He served in the U.S. Army Signal Corps in Korea during the Korean War. He worked in broadcast radio and television for many years as an electronic engineer and retired from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston as an electronic technician in 1991.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Lottie Jay Wadenpfuhl.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Betty Jo DeLeon Starnes of Bevil Oaks; brother-in-law, Karl Wadenpfuhl of Kirbyville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
