WILLIAM H “BILL” GEE
William Howard Gee, 83, of Beaumont died Sunday, March 1, 2009 at the Clairmont in Beaumont.
Memorial services were held Friday, March 6 at the Call United Methodist Church in Call under the direction of Adams E.E. Stringer Funeral Home in Kirbyville.
A native of Call, he was the last of 11 children born to John C., Sr. and Mollie Gee and had lived in Beaumont 52 years. He was a retired office/payroll clerk and a World War II U.S. Army Air Corps Veteran. He was the pianist for the First Presbyterian Church in Vidor.
Survivors include his wife, Sherry Gee of Beaumont; son, Martin Odom Gee and wife Tania of Beaumont; daughter, Sabrina Lyn McNabb of Roans Prairie; grandchildren, William “Billy” McNabb, Joshua Odom Gee, Lacey Gee and Tiffany Breaux; and great-granddaughter, Heaven Helina Star Gee.
ARLENE LANDRUM MCBRIDE
Arlene Landrum McBride, 92, of Kirbyville died Saturday, March 7, 2009 at Shady Acres Nursing Home in Newton.
Funeral services were held Monday, March 9 at Adams E.E. Stringer Funeral Home in Kirbyville with burial at Trout Creek Cemetery.
A native of Many, Louisiana, she had lived most of her life in the Trout Creek Community.
Survivors include her son, Larry Landrum of Old Salem; daughter, Janice Johnson of Tomball; sister, Fannie Cain of Buna; 18 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
DON GOOCH MITCHELL
Don Gooch Mitchell, 62, of Kirbyville died Sunday, March 8, 2009 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 12 at Adams E.E. Stringer Funeral Home in Kirbyville. Visitation will be March 11 from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
A native of Hemphill, he was a member of the IBEW 479 Beaumont. He never met a stranger and was there for all with a listening ear and a loving heart.
Survivors include his wife, Iris McKusker; daughter, Diana Meredith and husband Chris; grandchildren, Hannah and Brennan Meredith; stepsons, Jeff McKusker and wife Deny and Willie McKusker and wife Terri; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Doris Claud and Mildred Mason; brother, Frank Gooch; and caregivers, Yolonda Morgan and Gloria Williams.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lakes Area Hospice or a charity of your choice.
EVA LEE WILLARD
Eva Lee Willard, 87, of Kirbyville died Wednesday, March 3, 2009 at her residence.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 7 at Adams E.E. Stringer Funeral Home in Kirbyville with burial at Kirbyville Cemetery.
A native of Claire County, Michigan, she had lived in Kirbyville 15 years. She was a retired Head Inspector for Chrysler Motors in Michigan.
Survivors include her husband of 26 years, Jesse Willard of Kirbyville; sons, James Robert Joseph, Raymond Paul Joseph and Lawrence Wayne Shelly, all of Michigan; Joseph Stanley Willard and Johnny Eugene Willard, both of Louisiana; daughters, Delores Ann Montgomery of Florida, Gloria Jean Joseph of Utah, Jessie Kathleen Shelly of San Antonio and Corena Sue Viscardis and Tammy Lynn Jessie Willard, both of Kirbyville; 18 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
