 GRADY MCCULLOUGH
   Grady McCullough, 80, of Buna passed away Friday, March 19, 2010.

Arrangements were handled by Adams E.E. Stringer Funeral Home in Buna.

VELTA EVE DARNELL

Velta Eve Darnell, 79, of Kirbyville passed away Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at Rosewood II Assisted Living in Jasper.

Born September 11, 1930 in Kaplan, Louisiana, she grew up and was a graduate of East Chambers in Winnie.  She lived and worked in Port Arthur and Bridge City for many years until moving to Kirbyville in 1967.  She worked in banking, bookkeeping and management.

Funeral services were held Saturday, March 20 at Adams E.E. Stringer Funeral Home in Kirbyville with burial at Fairview Cemetery in Winnie.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond Boullion and Edith Dartez Duprie.

Survivors include her son, Wayne Leach and wife Jan of Wimberly; daughter, Brenda Sheffield and husband Charles of Kirbyville; and grandchildren, Craig Sheffield, Andrea Lantz and Michael Leach; and three great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank Odyssey Hospice Care Team for their care and support for Velta and her family in her last days.  Also, the staff of Rosewood II for making her last years enjoyable.  Memorial gifts may be made to further Parkinson’s research.

BILLIE SHOEMAKE

Billie Shoemake, 74, of Kirbyville passed away Tuesday, March 16, 2010 her residence.

Graveside funeral services were held on Thursday, March 18 at Vann Cemetery in Erin under the direction of Adams E.E. Stringer Funeral Home in Buna.

She owned and operated the Cow Pattie Café in Kirbyville for many years.

Survivors include her husband, Ross Shoemake of Kirbyville; daughter, Julie Cochran of Kirbyville, Rosemary Whitehead of Groves and Roxanne Bossley of Kirbyville; one brother; three sisters; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
