CAROL ANN WARE HANES

Carol Ann Ware Hanes, 71, of Clinton, Tennessee died Saturday, February 7, 2009 at her residence.

Graveside services were held at the Oak Ridge Memorial Park in Clinton, Tennessee on Wednesday, February 11.

A native of Kirbyville, she graduated from Kirbyville High School in 1955. She received her degree in music at East Texas Baptist University in Marshall. She met and married her husband, David L. Hanes, while attending college. They served the Lord together in pastorate for 50 years and she also taught music in the Clinton City schools for 31 years.

Survivors include her husband, David Hanes; son, Grant Hanes and wife Kristeen; daughter, Laura Wallace and husband Kirk; four grandchildren; brother, Bud Ware and wife Betty; sisters, Laverne Warner and husband Gerald and Louise Smith and husband Clark; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

JOHN D. SOWDER

John D. Sowder, 65, of Kirbyville died Tuesday, February 10, 2009.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 7 at the North Bon Ami Missionary Baptist Church in Kirbyville.

A native of Dayton, Ohio, he was born on January 6, 1944. He moved to Kirbyville in October 2004 to be close to his family. His hobbies were working on small engines and plumbing. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR races.

Survivors include his brothers, Earnest Glenn Sowder of Kirbyville; Gerald Kenneth Sowder of Louisiana and James Davis Sowder of Kirbyville; sister, Patricia Lynne Sorensen of Kirbyville; and stepbrother, Lee Roy Ruby of Maryland.
