David McNeeley of Wallisville, is owner and trainer of a pure-bred German Shepherd K9 Officer named "Si".
McNeeley is searching frantically since the animal went missing on Friday, July 5. Si was certified three months ago as a K9 Officer and has been working primarily with the Kountze Police Department, specializing in narcotics.
McNeeley stated that while on vacation with his family, he left Si in the care of his father-in-law, who let the dog outside for a short time when he went missing. He was last seen near his kennel in a subdivision in Wallisville.
McNeeley and officers with the nearby Chambers County Sheriff's Department have scoured the entire neighborhood and surrounding areas but have come up empty handed.
"It's like he was there one minute and gone the next," McNeeley said.
Neighbors have not seen Si nor has there been any reports of a wandering dog in the area, which lead McNeeley and fellow officers to believe that the dog was stolen.
Si is a two year old, rare breed of solid black German Shepherd, who McNeeley has trained since the dog was and eight week old pup.
"I'm worried but I still have hope that we can bring him home," McNeeley stated.
Should anyone see Si, please contact the Kountze Police Department at 409-246-2119.
