Archie Dean King, 79 of Newton, Tx died on February 12, 2010.
He was born on February 9, 1931 in Newton to Enoch Troy and Mildred Britton King. He lived most of his life in Newton, the town that he loved. He is a U S Army Korean War Veteran and a member of Rainbow Lodge #735.
He is survived by his wife, Janet King, sons, Roy D. King of Long Beach, CA and James Scott King of Newton, daughter, Elizabeth Phelps of Sugarland, Tx, brother, Bobby Wayne King of Merryville, La., sisters, Novis Daniels, Lillian Treadway and Bettye Wagnon all of Newton, Wanice Farr of Buna, Tx., Bernice Almon of Lumberton, Tx. and Wanda Woods of Jasper, Tx ., aunt, Midge Albritton of Newton, Tx and 6 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Patrick E. King.
Visitation will be on Sunday from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Smith Funeral Home in Newton. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 15, 2010 at 2:00 pm at Smith Funeral Home with burial to follow at the Newton City Cemetery.
