A well-known Buna man has been arrested on a first-degree felony charge of manufacturing and delivery of a controlled substance.

Jasper County Chief Deputy Ralph Nichols reported that Billy Ray Robinson, Jr., 27, was detained on Thursday, July 22 after a routine traffic stop. Robinson was traveling on Highway 96 when a deputy with the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office pulled him over at a convenience store in Buna.

Nichols indicated that Robinson had been the target of an undercover investigation for sometime. Allegedly Robinson was found with $7,720 in his possession. Nichols reported that some of the money recovered was marked bills that were used during the investigation.

According to the Jasper County Arrest Report, Robinson was charged with manufacturing and delivery of a controlled substance. He was arraigned by Precinct #6 Justice of the Peace, Judge Steve Conner and his bond was set at $350,000.
