Drug ring gets busted

Bryan Ray Camacho

A couple from Silsbee was arrested at their residence after an investigation by Silsbee police into a drug distribution ring.

Bryan Ray Camacho, 24 and Jennifer Henderson, 25, were arrested in a raid during the evening hours of Thursday, Jan. 17 after Silsbee police obtained a search warrant from Pct. 1 Justice of the Peace Chris Ingram.

Silsbee officers searched the residence where Camacho and Henderson lived along with Camacho’s 5-year old daughter at 574 East Avenue L.

According to a press release by Silsbee Police, officers located 1-½ pounds of synthetic marijuana, along with four loaded firearms and $3,450 in cash. Authorities believe the home was being used to repackage the illegal substance into smaller amounts and then resold throughout the community.

The substance was found to be “K2” and “spice”, two synthetic drugs that contain dangerous chemical compounds that are prohibited from sale or use. The chemicals in the synthetic drugs are known to produce physical and mental impairment similar to that of bath salts or PCP.

Both were charged with delivery of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, and endangering a child. Camacho was also charged with unlawful possession of a firearm.

Camacho and Henderson remain in Hardin County jail under bonds totaling $32,250 and $30,750 respectively.

The investigation continues and officers expect to locate and arrest certain customers and suppliers associated with this operation.
