Three individuals were killed in the early morning hours of Saturday, May 4, during a one vehicle accident that occurred in Lumberton.
According to Department of Public Safety reports, a 1999 GMC truck, driven by 44-year old Jesse Thomas of Lumberton, was traveling westbound on Wheeler Road when the vehicle left the roadway for an unknown reason.
The vehicle continued off the roadway and struck several trees before coming to a stop.
Thomas, and passengers Slayder Morris, 20, of Vidor and Dylan Avery, 20, of Lumberton were pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of Peace, Precinct 2, Kathy Simpson.
Reports indicate that none of the occupants of the vehicle were wearing seat-belts. The crash remains under investigation at this time by investigators of DPS.
