Moody Brown Jr.
Moody William Brown Jr., 90, of Pine Ridge; died Friday, May 10, 2013 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.
Funeral service was held Tuesday, May 14 at Pine Ridge Baptist Church in Sour Lake under the direction of Broussard’s Mortuary in Kountze with burial following in Pine Ridge Cemetery in Sour Lake.
A native of Pine Ridge and a lifelong resident of the area, he was a retired machinist with Mobil Oil and a United States Army World War II veteran.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Lucille Brown; daughters, Brumbeloe of Lumberton and Patsy Ruth Jacobson and husband Les of Nome; sons, Troy William Brown and wife Debbie of Spring and Robert Moody Brown and wife Tracey of Pine Ridge; and 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Anita Joan Connally, 81, of Silsbee, died Wednesday, May 8, 2013.
Funeral service was held Saturday, May 11 at Broussard’s Mortuary in Silsbee with burial following in Antioch Cemetery in Ratcliff.
A native of Groveton, she was a retired Indigent Healthcare Director for Hardin County.
Survivors include her sons, J.P. Connally and wife Angie of Silsbee, Jerry Connally and wife Sheila of Port Neches, and Jack Connally and wife Dana of Silsbee; brothers, Bob McClain and wife Dot of Deweyville and Larry McClain of Crockett; and five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Georgia Lynn Knupple Rutledge, 61, of Buna, died Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont.
Funeral service was held Friday, May 10 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with burial following in Leatherwood Cemetery in Lumberton. A native of Silsbee, she was a lifelong resident of this area. Survivors include her husband, Joseph Lynn Rutledge of Silsbee; mom, Bertha Gallander of Silsbee; daughters, Tina Louise Leatherwood Worsham and husband Raylen of Buna, Chere Leatherwood Johnson of Lumberton and Misti Lynn Leatherwood of Orange; brother, David Earl Knupple Jr.; sisters, Gayle Buckner and husband Kenneth and Leisa Griffith and husband M.R., all of Silsbee, Margie Leatherwood and husband Larry of Brookland and Roylene Leatherwood of Florida; and eight grandchildren.

Elbert Parker, 89, of Honey Island, died Sunday, May 12, 2013 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.
Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Broussard’s Mortuary in Kountze with burial following in William Hart Cemetery, also in Kountze.
A native of Warren, he was a United States Air Force veteran. He retired from Kirby Lumber Company.
Survivors include his children, Diane Sales of Jacksonville, Pete Sales and wife Sandy, Randy Parker, and Leory Parker and wife Lori, all of Honey Island; brother, R.A. Parker of Honey Island; sisters, Nelda Dacus of Honey Island and Betty Jo Roth of Hull; and 12 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.

Phyllis Ann McClelland Jurecek, 66, of Spurger, died Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital in Houston after a long illness.
A memorial service was held Friday, May 10, 2013 at Farmer Funeral Home.
A native of Galveston, she was a longtime resident of Spurger and was a retired LVN.
Survivors include son, Johnnie Ray Jurecek and wife Carrie of Spurger; daughter, Lynette Jurecek Jeffcoat of Spurger; sister, Wanda Collins of Galveston; and three grandchildren.

Arthur Lee Etheridge, 68, of Beaumont, died Saturday, May 11, 2013 at Spring Creek Nursing Home in Beaumont.
A graveside service was held Tuesday, May 14 at Knupple Cemetery under the direction of Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee.
A native of Silsbee, he worked as a grocery store stocker.
Survivors include his son, Chris Etheridge and wife Keisha of Lafayette, Louisiana; sisters, Willie Mae Andrews and husband Larry of Silsbee and Linda Fay Miller and husband Ray of Jasper; and numerous grandchildren.

Janet Sue Wheeler, 57, of Hillister, died Friday, May 10, 2013 at Dogwood Trials Manor in Woodville.
A graveside service was held Saturday, May 11 at Village Mills Cemetery in Village Mills under the direction of Broussard’s Mortuary in Kountze.
A native of Beaumont and a longtime resident of the area, she was a LVN.
Survivors include her daughters, Virginia Lee-Ann Wheeler of Hillister and Angela Michelle Horne and husband Daniel of Austin; sister, Sheila Kane and husband Rocky; and six grandchildren.

Mark Dewight Sims, 50, of Silsbee and a native of Houston, died Thursday, May 2, 2013 at his home.
A private burial was held Saturday, May 11 at Turner Branch Cemetery in Spurger under the direction of Farmer Funeral Home.
