George Emery Donalson, III, 89, left his loved ones on earth to be reunited with his loved ones in Heaven. He was born on November 2, 1924, in Kirbyville, to Nancy Ann Tompkins Donalson and George Emery Donalson, Jr. George was a member of the Silsbee High School class of 1942 and was a Veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Donalson; daughter, Donna Cormier; son-in-law, Lucius Cormier; son-in-law, Gary Phillips; brother-in-law, George Hayes; sister-in-law, Betty Jo Hayes; sisters, Helen Bistline and Janette Van Winkle; grandchildren, Kearsy Cormier and Kieron Brown; Kristin and Russell Malone; Chase and Mandy Cormier; Daphne Phillips; Konor and Kristi Cormier; Robin and Justin Moore; Candace and Eric Ballard; Virginia Phillips; Amy and Wayne Olivier; and Cale Cormier; great-grandchildren, Hunter Filson; Colin Cormier; Trinity Malone; J.J. Olivier; Hayden Malone; Jude Emery Moore; Micah Olivier; Andy Cormier; Carter Ballard; Kinzie Elena Cormier; and Coen Moore. He is also survived by his lifelong friend, Mona Plunk; his hunting buddy, John Tucker; and his friend, partner-in-crime, companion, and super caregiver, Beverly Jones; and many cousins; nieces; nephews; and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; daughters, Linda Dieringer and Karen Phillips; wives, Eleanor Christian Donalson and Ruth Hooks Donalson; grandson, Timothy David Gary; sister, Mildred Worthey; and brother, Jerrel D. Donalson.

A gathering of Mr. Donalson’s family and friends began at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, with his funeral service at 1:00 p.m., at First United Methodist Church, 670 North 5th Street, Silsbee, with his interment following at Resthaven Cemetery, Silsbee, under the direction of Broussard’s, Silsbee.

Funeral services for Mrs. Geraldine “Gerri” Fontenot Burton, 74, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 5, 2013 in the Miguez Funeral Home North chapel with Rev. Darrell Hieronymus officiating. Burial will be in the Mowata Cemetery. Funeral home visitation will be from 4:30 p.m. until 10:00 p.m., today (Wednesday) and 8:00 a.m. Thursday until time of services.
Mrs. Burton died at 6:40 p.m., Monday, December 2, 2013 in the Crowley Rehab Hospital.
She was a native of Welsh and a resident of Evangeline for 30 years. She was a member of the Assembly of God in Welsh, and Friends Supporting Friends in Basile, LA
Survivors include one daughter, Janet Marie (Shannon) Gatte of Evangeline; one son, Al (Cyndi) Miller of Evangeline; one sister, Kathy Newman of Roanoke; three brothers, Charles (Chris) Fontenot of Killeen, TX, John (Lena) Fontenot of Welsh, Curtis Fontenot of Welsh; 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Gladys LeLeux Fontenot; and her two husbands, W.O. “Pinkie” Rose and Donald C. Burton; and one sister, Emma Jean Fontenot.

Funeral services for Opal L. May, 97, of Silsbee were at 10:00 a.m. today (Wednesday, December 4, 2013) at the First Baptist Church in Silsbee. Interment followed at 1:00 p.m. at Ebenezer Cemetery in Jasper.
Mrs. May passed away December 2, 2013 at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont.
Opal was a native of Turpentine, TX and a long time resident of this area.
Mrs. May was preceded in death by her parents, Walter David and Sarah Willie Ferguson Byerly and husband T.J. May.
Survivors include her nieces, Patricia Lowery of Vidor and Paula Anders of Jasper; and nephew, Gary McGee of Colorado.
Joshua Byron Nelson, 35, of Lumberton, died Thursday, Nov. 28, 2013 at his home.
A lifelong resident of this area, he was sheet metal worker with Local 54.
Survivors include his parents, Trudie and Glynn Nelson of Lumberton; daughter, Abigail Nelson of Lumberton; sister, Autumn Nelson Richards of Silsbee; and grandmother, Lorene Nelson of Lumberton.
A private family service will be held at a later date under the direction of Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee.
Linda Marie Hooks Simmons of Silsbee passed away Monday, December 2, 2013 at Silsbee Oaks Healthcare. She was born in Call TX on October 12 to Lovie Minton Hooks and Vena Griggs Hooks but has resided in Silsbee most of her life.
She was a graduate of Silsbee High School. In 1943, she began a career as an operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. She continued her employment with Southwestern Bell and later with AT&T as a service assistant for 40 years until her retirement in 1983.
Linda was a member of the First Baptist Church of Silsbee. Before her health began to fail, she enjoyed traveling and especially spending time at the beach.
She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth C. Simmons and her parents.
Linda is survived by her son Joe Simmons and wife Paula; daughters Sharon Herron and husband Dan and Sheila Eveland and husband Tom, all of Silsbee. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Kenny Simmons of Giddings, David Simmons of Chicago IL, Bobby Simmons of Silsbee, Jennifer Damron of Keller, Dan Anne Burk of Silsbee, Zachary Eveland of Seattle WA and Joshua Eveland of Brooklyn NY; brother L M Hooks of Silsbee; sisters Billie Hancock of Silsbee and Eloise Townsend of Port Arthur. Ten great grandchildren, two great, great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews also survive Mrs. Simmons.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2013 from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm at Farmer Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held Sunday, December 8, 2013 at Turner Branch Cemetery in Spurger.

Sheila K. Ross, 52, of Silsbee, beloved daughter, sister and aunt, died Saturday, November 30, 2013 at Baptist Beaumont Hospital . She was born on March 25, 1961 in Overton, Texas to Bonnie Wayne and LaVerne Ross. She had lived in Silsbee for the last 44 years.
She was preceded in death by her father, Bonnie Wayne Ross.
She is survived by her mother, LaVerne Ross; sister, LaNita Gilchriest and her husband Brook and niece Gracie Gilchriest all of Silsbee and nephew Ross Gilchriest of Annapolis, MD. She is also survived by special aunts Polly Leavell of Diboll, Donnie Smith of Houston, and special friend and caretaker Ann Garcia of Silsbee.
A graveside service was held Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at 4 p.m. at R.S. Farmer Memorial Cemetery in Silsbee, TX. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
Marvin Yarbough, 64, of Kountze, died Monday, Dec. 2, 2013 at his home.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 7 at the Faith Temple Church of God in Christ in Silsbee under the direction of Donald E. Coleman Funeral Home in Kountze with burial following in Kirby Cemetery, also in Silsbee. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Visitation was from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Jones passed away November 30, 2013 at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont.
A native of West Monroe, Louisiana, Helen was a longtime resident of Lumberton. She was a housewife.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Kirby Jones; and sisters, Johnnie Mae Head and Marguerite Avery.
Survivors include son, Dan Jones and wife Patricia of Lumberton; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
