Funeral services for John Otis Morgan, Jr., 79, of Silsbee were at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at Farmer Funeral Home. Visitation was held Monday 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Morgan passed away February 21, 2014 at Silsbee Convalescent Center. John was a native of Burr Oak, Kansas. He had lived in Silsbee the past 5 years. Before moving to Silsbee he lived in Quintana Island, Texas for many years where he was a member of the city council and a former mayor. He was a member of the Redman Lodge. John was a truck driver and retired as terminal manager with Reagent Chemical and Research. He also served his country with the United States Marine Corp. He is preceded in death by his parents John OtisMorgan, Sr. and Edith Mae Craig; two brothers and one sister. Survivors include wife Phyllis Jean Morgan of Silsbee; son Russell Morgan of Silsbee; daughters Karen Clark and husband Wilbur of Silsbee, Cheryl Cawley and husband Vance of Fred and Carol Josey and husband Ken of Silsbee; brother Joe Morgan of Canton, Ohio; grandchildren Kelli Brooks, Matthew Clark, Brandy Morgan, Blair Cropper, Carlissa Morgan, Thomas Cawley, Quinton Cawley, Kerri Josey and Karley Josey and eleven great grandchildren.
