J.W. “Jake” Hinkie, 97 of Silsbee, Texas passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2014. He was born on December 23, 1916 in Pleasant Hill, Louisiana. “Jake” was pipefitter with Local No. 211. He proudly served in U.S. Army. He is preceded in death by wife, Dorothy Nell Hinkie, parents, Obie and Pearlie Mae Hinkie; brothers, Normice Hinkie, Elro Hinkie, O.H. Hinkie, Cecil Hinkie and Jarrell “J.B.” Hinkie; and a infant sister. He is survived by one son, Gary Hinkie and wife Mahi; two daughters Sandie Johnson and husband Robert Bush and Sonja Kelley and husband Bobby; seven grandchildren Garret Zoch, David Zoch, Sr., NicholeVarljen, John Hinkie, Ashley Johnson, Kyle Kelley and Kristine Kelley; four great-grandchildren Cynthia Zoch-Ramirez, David Zoch, Jr., Christopher Varljen and Grace Varljen. Memorial service was held Monday, March 31, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee.
