Steve Gene Boram, age 68, of Lumberton, TX passed away on Monday, April 7, 2014 in Lumberton, TX. He was born to Glenn William Boram and Imogene Welch Boram on February 28, 1946. Steve married his sweetheart on September 14, 1967 in Houston and three years later began their family. Steve loved being a welder and worked as one for over forty years, until he was disabled in 2009. One of his favorite hobbies was following his son, Brian, in dirt track racing, so much to the point of after being disabled he would anxiously await the video recording Karen would faithfully bring home after each race. Steve’s race family was dear to his heart. He also had a great love for his family and animals. Left to honor his memory are his wife, Karen Boram of Lumberton, TX; mother, Jean Boram of St.Amant, LA; son, Terry Boram and wife, Kyndale, of Little Cyprus, TX; daughter, Kimberly Kidwell and husband, Dave, of Lumberton, TX; brother, Buddy (Glenn) Boram and wife, Debbie, of St.Amant, LA; sister, Glenda Dillinger of Noblesville, IN; best friend and brother, Dewey Foreman and wife, Susie, of Lufkin, TX; eleven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, brothersin- law, sisters-in-law, numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of other friends. Preceding Steve in death were his father, Glenn Boram and son, Brian Boram. Visitation with family and friends will be from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m., Thursday,April 10, 2014, at Lumberton Family Funeral Home. Funeral services honoring Steve’s life will begin at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, April 10, 2014, also at the funeral home. Special thanks to his medical family, Karen Christos and Dr. Sista of St. Luke’s.
