Roy Clinton Drake, 68, of Spurger, died Thursday,April 24, 2014 after a three-year battle with bone marrow disease. Funeral service was Sunday, April 27 at Wiley Mae Pentecostal Church in Silsbee under the direction of Broussard’sMortuary, also in Silsbee with burial following in Franks Branch Cemetery in Fred. Born in Silsbee, he served in the Unites States Army from 1963-1967 during the Vietnam Era. He was employed with Exxon-Mobil for 28 years and served as Justice of the Peace, Precinct 4 in Tyler County for 24 years. He was affiliated with Snow River Lodge #385 AF & AM of Spurger and was a member of the Lions Club and Gideon’s International. Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Kathryn “Candy” Drake; daughters,AmyWilliford and husband Calvin and Angela Slaughter and husband Chris; son, Alan Drake and wife Michele; sisters, Simuel LeeArd of Silsbee and Barbara Osburn and husband Kenny of Vidor; brothers, George Arthur Drake and wife Bobbie Jean of Silsbee, Harold Drake and wife Jean of Tarkington, Harvey Drake and wife Sissy of Hull, and Johnny Perry and wife Carol of Paris; and nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
