The Hardin County Sheriff's Office is searching for a white male suspect about 27 years of age after a robbery Monday afternoon.

At about 1:50 p.m., a man, later identified as Bryant Burrell II, went into Short Stop Grocery on Hwy. 96 bypass to buy gas.

After filling up his vehicle, Burrell went back inside the store and pulled out what was believed to be a gun at the time, authorities said.

Burrell allegedly stole approximately $200-$300 from the cashier's drawer, along with some lottery tickets and cigarettes.

As Burrell was leaving, the clerk on duty was able to write down the license plate number and the description of vehicle, authorities said.

The vehicle, a Blue Dodge Durango, as well as its driver, was recognized for previous involvement in other crimes.

The Durango was later found in Jasper County, and deputies found the lottery tickets and a razor in the woods at a campsite Burrell had allegedly been staying. The razor is believed to be the weapon that was used during the robbery.

A warrant has been issued for Burrell's arrest.

Law enforcement has yet to find him because Burrell has no set address and has lived in several places recently, so his exact whereabouts are unknown.

The clerk was not injured.
