With no threat of a government shutdown and great weather, the 2016 Wildlife & Recreational Management Career Development Event sponsored by the Lower Neches Soil & Water Conservation District is in the archive. On Tuesday, October 4, contestants from 22 area schools converged on the facilities of the Big Thicket National Preserve visitor center and surrounding grounds once again. The annual event is made possible by the very generous use allowance of U.S. Park Service personnel and is very greatly appreciated.
