Banks sentenced to additional 99 years in prison for assault on public servant

A Kountze man who was already serving 20 years in prison for the beating of a former Kountze police officer and two years for evading arrest on November 7, 2014 was recently sentenced 99 years to run consecutively for once again assaulting a public servant.

The first assault happened after former police officer Kiera Linney responded to a call at the Tejas Grocery store stating that a customer was throwing things at the clerk. However, after Deputy Gulley with the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office arrived, the clerk stated that the suspect ran out carrying a handful of Budweiser cans.
