Silsbee Garden Club visits Picket House in Woodville

The Silsbee Garden Club traveled to Woodville to the Picket House Restaurant and Heritage Village Museum on May 23 for their monthly gathering. They had 13 members present.

The Museum is a collection of buildings and artifacts depicting a small farm and timber community ofthe mid- 1800’s to about 1920. A guided tour was conducted by Wanda Smith, who shared many details about how the acreage was developed. A tour was also conducted where Mr. Clyde Gray, owner and operator of Heritage Gardens, once lived. His home was decorated with many of his paintings.
