Silsbee churches feed needy in the community

A community joining together for charity is an important cause, and Silsbee has been lucky enough to have many organizations dedicated to this mission. The First United Methodist church has started a movement that reaches out a hand to those who might need it, by giving out free sack lunches at the Frank K. Rudisaile Pavilion.

The idea started with the church’s Evangelism Team. The team is a group of ladies dedicated to creating programs that meet community needs at no charge. Long-time team member Gay Fetteroff suggested the sack lunch programs at one of the meetings, and the group set to work.
