Tropical storm pounds Silsbee with heavy rain

Tropical Storm Harvey pounded on Silsbee earlier this week, but there were no reports of major flooding.

A thunderstorm rolled through the city late Tuesday afternoon, bringing some of the heaviest rains this week and gusty winds.

According to Mayor Herbert Muckleroy, the city has not received any calls that were weather related as of press time Tuesday.

“We haven’t got any call for help, but we are set up for them,” said the mayor. On Monday, water was reported over a section of U.S. Business 96, east of the intersection at FM 418.
