Flooding forces area schools to begin classes on Sept. 11

HARDIN COUNTY – All county schools will open up for class on Monday, Sept. 11 because of flooding and damage caused by Tropical Storm Harvey last week.

Classes were originally set to begin on Aug. 28.

Richard Bain, Silsbee ISD superintendent, said the district will delay the start of school to help those affected by the historic floods in Silsbee and Hardin County.
