HUMBLE — The Silsbee Tigers advanced to the UIL Class 4A Division 1 Region 3 semi-finals with a convincing 52-21 win over Bay City on Nov. 24 at Turner Stadium. It was the Tigers’ six consecutive win of the season.

The Tigers (7-4) have slowly been putting all the parts together this season as they have shown steady improvement all year. But it was time for the defensive secondary and the offensive line to shine. Bay City quarterback Dylan Davidson, who had thrown for more than 2,000 yards and rushed more than 1,000 yards, had problems throwing and running the ball against Silsbee’s defensive front seven and secondary. While the defensive front kept Davidson bottled up most of the game, the secondary’s coverage limited big plays. He completed 16 of 24 passes for 162 yard and a pair of touchdowns, while gaining 51 yards on 21 carries. He was intercepted once.
