New wing offers rehab and outpatient therapy unit

Silsbee Convalescent Center has just opened their new rehab and outpatient therapy wing, and celebrated with a ribbon cutting and breakfast. “We’re a registered outpatient service now,” stated Alan Cruz, Rehab Manager. “It’s new, that’s why they moved the hall to the front.”

Speeding leads tomultiple charges

A Kountze man was stopped for a traffic violation, but ended up being booked into jail on September 16 with five different charges against him. Lumberton Police Officer Michael Strange Jr. noticed a speeding 1993 Buick LaSabre driving through town at about 2:30 a.m. Strange pulled the vehicle over on FM 421 at the Express Mart.

Means celebrating 60 years as surveyor

John H. Means will be honored for 60 years of surveying in the Hardin and Tyler county areas at a reception at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church on Saturday Sept. 24 at 2 p.m. The 78 year old surveyor has worked land from Borger to Beaumont. He started as a youth working with his dad who was a surveyor.

Stallworth, James honored on Friday

LaQuan Stallworth and Stephen James were honored on Friday on two occasions as both were inducted into the Silsbee Wall of Honor. Stallworth was a 1995 graduate of Silsbee High School and starred for the Silsbee Lady Tigers basketball team under former Head Coach Kim Albers.
