The Lumberton Police Department recently applied for a government grant to allow them to purchase on-body cameras for all of the officers to wear while patrolling and responding to calls. They awarded a grant that paid for 75 percent of the total cost, and on Friday, October 7 they had a pleasant surprise from a Lumberton resident. Lumberton Police Chief Danny Sullins received a phone call from Randy Graffagnino of Lumberton who wanted to know if the officers had body cameras. Mullins told Graffagnino that they had received a grant that covered most but not all of the cost, and the department was waiting for the cameras to be built.
