Ramona Pockrus Donaldson, 88, of Lumberton, passed away Thursday, March 9, 2017. A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 16, 2017 at Lumberton Family Funeral Home in Lumberton. Survivors include her children, Robert Allen Graham and wife Deborah of Beaumont and Mary Elen Otey Graham and husband Paul of Otey of Nederland; and one grandchild.

Marvin Waller

Funeral services for Marvin Gypson Waller, 77, of Kountze were at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday March 8, 2017 at First Pentecostal Church in Silsbee with internment following at New Hope Cemetery in Center. Visitation began at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Mr. Waller passed away Sunday March 5, 2017 at Silsbee Convalescent Center. He was a native of Center and a longtime resident of Kountze. Marvin had worked construction as a carpenter. He is preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Melinda Whiteside Waller; son David Gypson Waller; daughter, Debbie Duplissey; and brother, Lee Waller.

Thomas Tucker Jr.

Thomas Jason Tucker Jr., 65, of Lumberton passed away Friday, March 3, 2017 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. A memorial service was held Sunday, March 5 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee. Born in Kountze and a longtime resident of this area, he worked for J.T. Operations and was a United States Marine Corp veteran. Survivors include son, Albert Jason Tucker and wife Patricia of Victoria; daughters, Joyce Nicole Tucker of Lumberton, Jami Larraine Huggins of Silsbee and Kelli Michelle Reyes of Lumberton; sisters, Cynthia G. Tucker and Annetia Tucker Peacock, both of Silsbee; and seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Margaret Smith

Funeral services for Margaret Elsie Foster Smith, 77, of Silsbee will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at Jesus Christ Church of Latter Day Saints with interment following in R.S. Farmer Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Mrs. Smith passed away March 7, 2017 at her residence. Margaret was born in Port Arthur on August 22, 1939 to Albert Monroe and Mary Ethel Bailey Foster. She taught for Silsbee ISD for many years before retiring. Mrs. Smith is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Fred Allen Smith; daughter, Celia Ann Smith; and brothers, Albert Monroe Foster, Malcolm Foster and Donald Foster. Survivors include her sons, Donald Smith and wife Anna L. of Silsbee, Daniel A. Smith and wife Aliana of Angiers, North Carolina and David A. Smith and wife Katryn of Kountze; fourteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Mrs.

Funeral services for Willie Jewel Barks Hamm, 88, of Lumberton will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 13, 2017 at Farmer Funeral Home with interment following in Hooks Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. Monday until time of service. Mrs. Hamm was born February 26, 1929 in Elizabeth, Louisiana and passed away March 6, 2017. She spent her last days under the exceptional care of ‘The Gardens’ Altus Hospice, listening to her favorite country gospel songs and accepting her earthly visitors before reuniting with her heavenly Father and family. Willie is predeceased by her parents, Joseph L. Barks, Sr. and Nellie Belle Doyle Barks; son, Jerry Don McRoberts; brother, Joseph L. Barks, Jr.

Marvin Riley

Marvin Daniel Riley, 85, of Kountze, passed away Sunday, March 5, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born September 28, 1931 in Hardin County. He met the love of his life, Dorothy and married in Kountze, Texas on October 5, 1950. Marvin was an iron worker and member of Iron Workers Local 125. He was an avid reader. He enjoyed fishing and gardening. He was a hard worker and a good man. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Dorothy Riley of Kountze; sons, Danny Riley and wife, Barbara of Kountze and Tommy Riley and wife, Renda of Kountze; sisters, Joyce Carlisle of Longview and Frances Tillery of Vidor; brothers, Jimmy Riley of North Dakota and Wayne Riley of Silsbee; 6 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. The family received friends at Happy Valley Church on Tuesday March 7, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. The funeral service followed at 3:00 p.m. officiated by Reverend Robert Hall.

Lt. Col. Franz Nelsson

Lieutenant Colonel Franz E. Nelsson, U.S.A.F., retired, 79, of Kountze, passed away Saturday, February 25, 2017 at Liberty Health Care Center. Funeral service was Monday, March 6 at Broussard’s Mortuary in Beaumont with a military honors burial at Magnolia Cemetery, also in Beaumont. Born in Tacoma, Washington and a longtime resident of the area, he was a Lieutenant Colonel with the United States Air Force, retiring after 28 years service. Survivors include his wife, Lynn Nelsson of Kountze; daughter, Deborah Fox and husband Steve of Beaumont; step-sons, Shelby Luke Jr. and wife Nancy of Sweeney, Gary Luke and wife Angela of Nederland and Kevin Luke Sr. of Beaumont; and 14 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
