Mary Rivas

Mary Elizabeth Cordelia Rivas, two-week daughter of Anna Garza and Joe Rivas of Silsbee passed away Friday, March 2, 2018 at a Galveston Hospital. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 8 at Lumberton Family Funeral Home in Lumberton. Survivors other than her parents include her grandparents, David Garza and Donna Hill of Nederland, Charlotte Russell and David Johnson of Buna and Raul and Rae Rivas of Edinburg; and great-grandparents, Reynaldo Garza and Rosa Garza of Alice, Irma Rosas of Port Arthur, and Eufemia Rivas of LaBlanca.

Mary Landry, 67, of Silsbee, passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at Pine Arbor Nursing Home in Silsbee. Survivors include her husband, Bobby Hollingsworth of Silsbee; brothers, Robert Lee Landry Sr., Billy Landry and Joe Landry, all of Silsbee; and sisters, Katherine Landry and Alma “Weasel” Landry, both of Silsbee.

Gloria Cormier

Gloria Dean Cormier, 85, of Beaumont, passed away Monday, February 26, 2018 at Houston Methodist Hospital. Funeral service was Saturday, March 3 at Broussard’s Mortuary in Beaumont with burial following at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, also in Beaumont. Born in Port Arthur, she was manager over the drapery department for JC Penney’s in Beaumont for many years and later retired as sales manager for Tri-State Pawn Shop in Silsbee. Survivors include her husband of 66-years, Gene Cormier; children, Shelley Turner and husband Rob of Beaumont, Ronnie Cormier and wife Cindy of Silsbee, and Lisa Pearce and Gina Bowman and husband Keith, all of Beaumont; 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Glynn Adrain Kilpatrick, 74, of Evadale, died Tuesday, February 27, 2018. He was born on December 31, 1943, in Evadale. Survivors include his wife, Charlotte Ann Clark; daughter, Cassi Diane Clark Hetzel; grandchildren, Dusti Hetzel, Frances D. Hetzel, Deborah Hetzel, Amanda Hetzel, and Bryar Hetzel; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his sister, Jeanette Dillard. His committal was handled by Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.

Kathy Lynn Creel, 66, of Silsbee, passed away Thursday, February 22, 2018. A graveside service was Friday, February 23 at Cunningham Cemetery in Silsbee under the direction of Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee. She was an insurance adjuster and her last job was with Entergy as a claims adjuster. Survivors include her daughter, LaDonna Schwartz and husband Craig of Silsbee; siblings, Shirley Salsbury, Leroy Wright and wife Cindy, Sammy Wright and wife Kitty, and Brenda Kendrick and husband Ronnie, all of Silsbee; and three grandchildren.

Robert Key Sr.

Robert Edward Key Sr., 69, of Silsbee, passed away Friday, February 23, 2018 at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Katy after a lengthy illness. A memorial service was Tuesday, February 27 at Happy Valley Baptist Church in Kountze. Born in Silsbee, he worked as a millwright for Kirby Ind., then Louisiana Pacific for about 20 years, and STI for 11 years before retiring. Survivors include his longtime girlfriend, Glenda Sparks of Silsbee; daughters, Tammy Simmons and husband Bobby of Warren, Christi Key of Silsbee and Genny Pelt and husband Donnie and Misti Smith, all of Warren; sisters, Patti Logan of Canyon Lake and Pam Holyfield of Lake Panasoffkee, Florida; and nine grandchildren.
