Sandra Claudia Alford Fregia, 73, of Silsbee, passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2017 in Beaumont. A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, September 29 at Old Hardin Cemetery in Kountze under the direction of Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee. Born in Fort Gordon, Georgia, she had lived the past 12 years in Silsbee. She worked many years has a nurse and retired from Village Creek Nursing Facility. Survivors include her son, John Viverette of Silsbee; sisters, Cindy Smith of Monroe, Louisiana and Deborah Stringer of Jackson, Mississippi; and one grandchild and one great-grandchild.

Funeral service was Saturday, September 23 at Cristo Rey Catholic Church in Beaumont with burial following at Magnolia Cemetery in Beaumont under the direction of Broussard’s Mortuary, also in Beaumont. Survivors include her husband, Brandon Godina of Lumberton; daughter, Gia Godina; son, Slade Godina; brothers, Jorge Castelan and Jim Castelan, both of Beaumont; and sisters, Yolanda Rodriguez of Katy, and Noemi Castelan, Janet Castelan, and Eileen Castelan, all of Beaumont.

Paula Scott Foy, 71, of Lumberton, passed away Friday, September 15, 2017. A private family committal was held at Broussard’s Crematorium in Beaumont. Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Ronald Foy of Lumberton; daughter, Rhonda Hinson and husband Christopher of Lumberton; son, Randy Foy and wife Therese of Lumberton; brothers, William Bill Duncan, Douglas Duncan, and David Johnson; sisters, Lisa Black, Sharon Herrington, and Penny Stanger; and three grandchildren and one great-grandchildren.

Gary Gatch

Gary Kendel Gatch, 70, of Silsbee, passed away Sunday, September 24, 2017. Funeral service was at 10 a.m. today (Wednesday, September 27) at First Baptist Church in Silsbee with burial following at Resthaven Cemetery in Silsbee under the direction of Lumberton Family Funeral Home in Lumberton. He retired as a First-Class Boatswain’s Mate from the United States Navy after 20 years of service. While in the Navy, he served a 6-month Mediterranean Cruise out of Virginia, two cruises in the North Atlantic, and was stationed in Jacksonville, Florida for 2 ½ years. Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Sharron Giroir Gatch.

Ronald Gene Shandy, 60, of Silsbee, passed away Sunday, September 24, 2017 at his home. A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, September 28 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee. Born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, he had lived in Silsbee the past 18 years. He worked many years as an ironworker and an estimator coordinator. He was a United States Army veteran. Survivors include his wife, Kathy Shandy of Silsbee; sons, Brandon Shandy of Anahuac and Kelby Shandy of Baytown; daughters, Jamie Dadia of Manassas, Virginia, Somer Gibens of Auburn, Alabama, Ciara Shandy of Houston and Chloe Tanton of Vidor; brother, Edward Shandy of Redfield, Arkansas; sister, Marilyn Cook of Star City, Arkansas; and 15 grandchildren.

A native of Colmesneil, she was a long-time resident of Silsbee Convalescent Center. Survivors include her niece, Connie Solly.

Suellen Martin Weaver, 73, of Silsbee, passed away Friday, September 22, 2017. A graveside service was Monday, September 25 at R.S. Farmer Memorial Cemetery in Silsbee under the direction of Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee. Born in Houston, she was a licensed vocational nurse, serving in several nursing homes and home health services. She taught nurse aide classes giving many a way to support themselves. She retired from Silsbee Oaks Nursing Home as the assistant director of nurses. Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Houston Weaver; son, Eric Weaver and wife Melinda “Punkin” of Silsbee; daughter, Kay Messer and husband Gerald of Fred; brother, James “Bubba” Martin and wife Carolyn of Nederland; and five grandchildren.

Ernest Paul Gauthier, Jr., 76, of Silsbee, Texas, went to his heavenly home on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, Texas. Memorial service, under the direction of Dorman Funeral Home, was held at Dorman Funeral Home, in Orange, Texas at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 23, 2017; Lay Pastor Bryant Champagne of Cowboy Church officiating. Visitation for family and friends was held at Dorman Funeral Home on Saturday, September 23, 2017, from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Ernest was born on Saturday, October 26, 1940, in Franklin, Louisiana, to Lucille Gary and Ernest "Pete" Gauthier Sr. In 1941, Ernest became a resident of Orange, Texas, where he lived for the next 47 years. He was a graduate of St. Mary’s Catholic High School. Ernest was a hardworking man who made a career as a process operator for 33 years at Bayer before retiring in 2001.

O.U. Jenkins, 64, of Silsbee, passed away Saturday, September 23, 2017 in Houston. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, September 30 at First Baptist Church in Silsbee with burial following at Kirby Cemetery under the direction of J.B. Coleman Memorial Mortuary, also in Silsbee. A native and longtime resident of Silsbee, he was a mechanic. Survivors include his sisters, Nadine Ford and Pandora Cutwright, both of Silsbee; and brothers, Jessie Jenkins Jr. of Brenham, Larry Holman of Beaumont and Lester Jenkins of Buna.
