Kera Teel Kyndal Teel

Kera Laneigh Teel, 19, and her infant daughter, Kyndal Jae Teel, both of Beaumont, died Tuesday, June 6, 2017. Kera was born on March 10, 1998, in Beaumont, to Mindy Chambliss Morris and Justin Morris. Kyndal’s father is Andrew Teel. Kera’s survivors include her husband, Andrew Teel; daughter, Alaya Teel; parents, Mindy and Justin Morris of Vidor; grandparents, Charlene Chambliss, Randy Massey, and Mary and Tommy Brown, all of Vidor; great-grandparent, Bernice Goines of Vidor; brother, Britt Morris of Vidor; sister, Tarra Whisenant of Vidor; mother-in-law, Tammy Myers and her husband, Malcolm, of Silsbee; father-inlaw, Mark Teel and his wife, Lisa, of Evadale; sisters-inlaw, Candis Blythe and her husband, Travis; Jenna Myers; and Heather Myers, all of Silsbee; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Charles E. Goines and Larry Lewis Teague.

Elizabeth Ann LaGrand, 67, of Silsbee, passed away Sunday, June 11, 2017 in Beaumont. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 15 at St. Mark Catholic Church in Silsbee with burial following at R.S. Farmer Memorial Cemetery in Silsbee under the direction of Farmer Funeral Home, also in Silsbee. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. today (Wednesday, June 14) at the funeral home. A native of North Carolina, she was a longtime resident of this area. Survivors include her mother, Beulah Poston of Fairmont, North Carolina; son, Cory LaGrand of San Antonio; two brothers; five sisters; and one grandchild.

R.V. “Jack” Whisenant

R.V. “Jack” Whisenant, 90, of Fred, passed away Saturday, June 10, 2017 at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont. Funeral service was Tuesday, June 13 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with burial following at Franks Branch Cemetery in Fred. A lifelong resident of Fred, he was a burner operator with Bethlehem Steel and was a United States Marine veteran. Survivors include his wife, Myrtis Whisenant of Fred; sons, Thomas Graham and wife Diane and Tim Whisenant and wife Donna, all of Fred; daughter, Patricia Schwander of Rockport; and eight grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

Verlon Ray Bobbitt

Verlon Ray Bobbitt, 86, of Lumberton, passed away Saturday, June 10, 2017 at Altus Hospice The Gardens in Beaumont. A graveside service was at 10 a.m. today (Wednesday, June 14) at Resthaven Cemetery in Silsbee under the direction of Farmer Funeral Home, also in Silsbee. A native of Buna and a longtime resident of Lumberton, he was a retired school teacher with Lumberton I.S.D. Survivors include his wife, Mary Bobbitt of Lumberton; son, Keith Bobbitt of Smithville, Tennessee; daughters, Beverly Bobbitt and Sheila Tynes and husband Aron, all of Lumberton; and six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Lonnie McGallion

Lonnie McGallion, 70, of Vinton, Louisiana, passed away Sunday, June 11, 2017 at his home. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 17 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with burial following at Franks Branch Cemetery in Fred. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, June 16 at the funeral home. Born in Fred, he was a lifelong resident of Fred before moving to Vinton in February. He was a highly decorated United States Army veteran of the Vietnam war. He was awarded a Purple Heart, Bronze Star Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and numerous other military honors. He worked many years as a welder and boilermaker in construction.

Survivors other than her parents include her brother, Maddox Robson; grandparents, Susan and Scott Holbert of Silsbee, Julie and Jose Jaramillo of Houston and Glenn Robson of Kountze; and great-grandparents, Barbara Holbert of Silsbee and Linda Jaynes of Victoria. Committal was held at Broussard’s Crematorium in Beaumont.

Garry Smith

Funeral services for Garry Keith Smith, 72, of Silsbee were at 10 a.m. today (Wednesday, June 7) at St. Marks Catholic Church in Silsbee. Burial will be in Quail, Texas at a later date. Born in Hereford and a former resident of Dawn, his family moved to Silsbee in 1983 where he was employed by Temple Eastex until his retirement in 2007. He was a member of Kiwanis Club and Knights of Columbus and was a volunteer driver for the Christian Care Center. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Margaret of Silsbee; son, Keith Smith and wife Lisa of Leander; twin daughters, Kim Richard and husband Carl of Lumberton and Kelley Smith and husband Doug of Sealy; sister, Karan Garrett and husband Dean of Altus, Oklahoma; and nine grandchildren.
