Alma Daniel

Alma L. Daniel, 75, of Kountze, passed away Friday, March 9, 2018. Funeral service was Sunday, March 11 at Lumberton Family Funeral Home in Lumberton. Born in San Augustine, she was a longtime resident of Silsbee. She was a food service manager for most of her life. Survivors include son, Clay Erwin and wife Christina of San Antonio; daughter, Stacey Bumstead and husband Gene of Kountze; sisters, Dianne Clerk of Houston and Betty McDonald of Silsbee; and one grandchild.

Frederick Probst

Frederick Howard Probst, 84, of Kountze, passed away Monday, March 12, 2018. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 17 at Freedom Fellowship Church in Silsbee. Born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, he was a United States Army veteran and a charter member of the American Legion #72 in Lumberton. Survivors include his children, Brian H. Probst and wife Cheryl of Lumberton, Christina Probst of Fullerton, California and Paula Clark and husband Phillip of Canton, North Carolina; and five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Gerald Stackpole

Gerald Vernon Stackpole, 85, passed away Friday, March 9, 2018 in Beaumont. Funeral service was Tuesday, March 13 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with burial following at Fellowship Cemetery in Warren. Born in Village Mills, he had lived in Silsbee since 1954. He spent most of his career with the Texas Highway Department, Engineers Department and he was a Korean Conflict Air Force veteran. Survivors include his nieces, Cathy Riley of Beaumont and Prissy Knighten and husband Thomas of Silsbee; nephews, Dude Fuller and wife Nora of Silsbee and Mike David and wife Debbie of Atascocita; and eight great nieces and nephews and nine great-great nieces and nephews.

David Simmons

David Alden Simmons, 60, of Kountze, passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont. He was born in Pasadena. Survivors include his wife, Mary Simmons; children, Joshua Simmons and wife Tammy of Kountze, Keith Simmons and wife Brandi of Conroe, Rachel Larson and husband Fred of Tennessee, and Misty Martin and husband David of College Station; step-father, Aaron Hope Crain; sister, Rhonda Taylor; and six grandchildren. A private family committal was held at Broussard’s Crematorium in Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s Mortuary in Kountze.

Kenneth Pattillo

Kenneth Wayne Pattillo, 71, passed away Friday, March 9, 2018 after a 6 ½ year battle with Glioblastoma. Funeral service was Tuesday, March 13 at Lumberton Family Funeral Home in Lumberton with burial following at Walton Family Cemetery, also in Lumberton. Born in Beaumont, he retired from Mobil Oil in 1998 with 33 years service and he was a United States Army Vietnam veteran. Survivors include his wife, Sandra Pattillo of Lumberton; daughters, Kasey Taylor and husband Kenneth and Kristin Pattillo, all of Nederland; and six grandchildren, along with great-grandchildren.

George Finley

George Riley Finley, 85, of League City, Texas left this world to be with the Lord on February 26, 2018. George was a Christian, devoted family man, mason, and U. S. Air Force retiree. He was a class of 1952 graduate of Silsbee High School, and a 1978 graduate of Charleston Southern University with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. George is remembered most for his witty & charming personality, his smile, his laugh, and his lifetime of enjoyment of his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Ernest Finley and Bennie Lou Freeman Finley; brother, Edward Finley; and sisters, Ernestine Marshall and Edith Ham. His survivors include his loving wife of 61 years, Carolyn Wiley Finley; sons, Larry Dwayne (Linda), George Howard (Debbi), Michael Kevin (Becky); daughter, Becky Joy Tatom (Darrel); and sister, Pat Kyles (Glen).

Victor J. Cascio Sr., 71, of Lumberton, passed away Thursday, March 8, 2018 at Village Creek Rehabilitation and Nursing Home in Lumberton. His graveside service was Sunday, March 11 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont under the direction of Broussard’s Mortuary, also in Beaumont. Born in Beaumont, he retired as a piping designer for Bethlehem Steel and continued working for various local shipyards. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Paula Cascio; and sister, Mary Jo Harper and husband Lynn.
