Jessie Yawn

Jessie Lee Yawn, 83, of Fred, died Saturday, April 11, 2015 at Silsbee Convalescent Center. Funeral service was Tuesday, April 14 at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church in Fred with burial following in Franks Branch Cemetery under the direction of Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee. A native of Port Arthur, she had lived in Fred 48 years and was a housewife. She was a member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughters, Bridget Phillips and husband Buddy of Warren, Linda Yawn and Pam Yawn, both of Fred and Stephanie Richmond and husband Cody of Lumberton; sisters, Nida L. Garrett of Port Neches, Mildred L. Thibodeaux and husband Albert of LaBelle and Carol Ann Sheffield of West Columbia; and four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Betty Baldree

Betty Jean Baldree, 83, of Silsbee, died Thursday, April 2, 2015. She was born on October 21, 1931, in Henderson, to Ada Bell Arnold Lacy and William Clyde Lacy. Mrs. Baldree was a writer and along with her husband, owned several businesses. She also worked as an assistant administrator at East Texas Convalescent Center in San Augustine and Hardin Memorial Hospital in Kountze. Church was very important to her and teaching children about Jesus was her passion. Mrs. Baldree worked with the children of her church since the age of 14. Survivors include her husband of sixty-two years, Milton Baldree; children, Wesley Baldree and his wife, Sharon, of Silsbee and Kim Sowell and her husband, Dean, of San Augustine; grandchildren, Daniel Baldree of Silsbee; Samantha Baldree of Scott City, Kansas; and Matthew Baldree of Silsbee; and daughter-in-law, Patrina McGonagle of Scott City, Kansas. She is preceded in death by her parents; and son, Tim Baldree. A gathering of Mrs.

Doris Brown

Funeral service for Doris “Dot” Mae Brown, 90, of Silsbee was at 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 03, 2015 at Farmer Funeral Home with interment following at Antioch Cemetery in Buna. Visitation was from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Mrs. Brown passed away April 1, 2015 at Silsbee Convalescent Nursing Center. She was a native of Roby, Texas and a longtime resident of Silsbee. She was a retired warehouse clerk for Kirby Lumber Company. Mrs. Brown is preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Elva McCain Griffin; husband of 70 years, Cyriel Brown; brothers,Alfred Griffin and Buford Griffin; sister, Maxine Kluting; son-in-laws, Bill Owens and Ed Zatorski; and grandsons, Josh and Alex Brown. Survivors include son, Paul Brown of Silsbee; daughters, Dottie Ross of Buna, Connie Zatorski of Silsbee, and Penny Ferrell of Beaumont; sisters, Della Lawlis of Roby and Pat Pyron of Hamlin; ten grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren.

Sydni Grey Loden, infant daughter of Chris and Ginni Loden of Silsbee died Thursday, April 2, 2015 at Woman’s Hospital of Texas in Houston. Funeral service was Saturday, April 4 at R.S. FarmerMemorial Cemetery. Survivors other than her parents include grandparents, Vickie Loller, Jimmy Loller and Dan Loden, all of Silsbee and ToniMorgan of Beaumont; and great-grandmother, Barbara Loden of Beaumont.

Stanley A. Orr, 85, of Lumberton, died Saturday,April 4, 2015. Funeral service was at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday, April 8) at Broussard’s Mortuary in Silsbee with burial following in HardinMemorial Park, also in Silsbee. Anative of DeBerry, he was a United States Marine Corps World War II veteran and retired from SantaFe Railroad. Survivors include his wife, Ramona Orr; sons, Dwain S. John R. Pounders, 65, of Lumberton, died Wednesday, April 1, 2015 of several strokes. A native of Beaumont, he had recently retired from Xerox after 37 years of service and was amember of Family Worship Center in Beaumont.
