Rex Walker

Rex Rodney Owen Walker, 76, of Kountze, passed away Thursday, April 26, 2018. Funeral service was at 10:30 today (Wednesday, May 2 at Christian Fellowship Worship Center in Beaumont under the direction of Lumberton Family Funeral Home in Lumberton. Born in Durant, Mississippi, he was a United States Army veteran and retired from Mobil Oil Refinery. Survivors include his wife, Kellie; sons, Geoffrey Todd Walker of Missouri City and Clayton Drew Walker and wife Diane Lee of Lumberton; sister, Linnie Owen Smith of Beaumont; and six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Clint Gilbert

Clint Andrea was born May 22, 1964 to the late Lewis Gilbert and Leola Faye Gilbert. He was the youngest of 10 children. Clint graduated from Kirbyville High School in 1982. He joined the Army and completed his requirement and was honorably discharged. He was employed by Burlington North Santa Fe and DuPont in Orange. He is preceded in death by his father, Lewis Gilbert; and sister, Addie Gilbert. Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Leola Gilbert of Kirbyville; wife, Holly Gilbert; son, Shaun Oneal and daughter, LaShell Gilbert; step children, Bianca E. Matthews, Paige A. Malveaux, K'Li D. Malveaux, and Brittany V. Malveaux; siblings, Brenda Batts of Houston, Jersey Gilbert and Linda (Billy) Gulley, all of Kirbyville, Gregory O. Gilbert of New Port Beach, California, Tony (Leslie) Gilbert of Twentynine Palms, California, and Supt. Daryl Gilbert Sr.

Crockett Lee Kirkes, 82, of Kountze, passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont. Funeral service was Saturday, April 28 at Broussard’s Mortuary in Kountze with burial following at Magnolia Park Cemetery in Dayton. Survivors include his daughters, Jackie Ellis and husband Jon of Honey Island and Ralene Curtis and husband Randy of Huntsville; siblings, Roy Lee “John” Kirkes and wife Geraldine of Pittsburg, Cannie Mae Kirkes Goodson of Tuskahoma, Oklahoma, Claudean Kirkes Burns of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Wayland Rafford Kirkes and wife Kay of Inola, Oklahoma, Tine Louise Kirkes Medders and husband Johnny of McAlester, Oklahoma, Zella Ann Kirkes Trowbridge and husband Carrol of Talihina, Oklahoma and Beverly Kay Kirkes Panach of Braman, Oklahoma; and four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Fritz Duhon Sr.

Fritz J. Duhon Sr., 85, of Lumberton, passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. Funeral service was Saturday, April 28 at Infant Jesus Catholic Church in Lumberton under the direction of Broussard’s Mortuary in Beaumont with burial following at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont. Born in Kaplan, Louisiana, he was a United States Air Force veteran and worked as an operator at Gulf States Utilities for over 40 years. Survivors include his wife, Helen Duhon of Lumberton; daughters, Donna Price and husband Tommy of Boerne and Claudia Duhon of Beaumont; sons, Fritz J. “Buddy” Duhon Jr. and wife Darla and Felix “Paul” Duhon and wife Susie, all of Lumberton; brother, Morris Duhon of Lake Charles, Louisiana; sister, Patty Rabb of Beaumont; and 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Luann Watson

Martha "Luann" Watson, 82, of Silsbee, passed away on Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at Christus Hospital in Beaumont, surrounded by her family and dear friends. She was a retired school teacher, librarian and a local business owner. She was born on April 1,1936, to Kermit and Alma Dyche in Abilene, Texas. Luann graduated from Fort Stockton High School in 1954, where she was crowned “Miss Fort Stockton.” She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Texas Christian University in 1958, where she proudly served as a Horned Frog Cheerleader and later received her Master’s Degree in Library Science from Sam Houston State University. Luann loved learning and was always enthusiastic about sharing the love of reading and learning with children. She married Joe Watson in 1959. She dearly loved his family like her own and helped organize the Avants’ family reunion domino tournaments for many years.

Committal was held at Broussard’s Crematorium in Beaumont. Born in Kountze, he was a United States Army veteran and worked as a carpenter. Survivors include his children, Thomas Anderson of Lumberton, Lana Anderson- Bentley and husband Rob of Austin, and Elvis Anderson and wife Megan of Beaumont; fiance, Lee Vigil of Kountze; siblings, J.D. Anderson, Mitchell Anderson, Leroy Anderson, James Anderson, Dwight Anderson, A.J. Anderson, Alton Anderson, Ruth Herrington and Martha Douty; and eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Deonesha Kekio Arline, 42, a Silsbee native, passed away Saturday, April 28, 2018. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 5 at New Hope Church of God in Christ in Silsbee under the direction of Proctor’s Mortuary with burial following in Hickory Groves Cemetery, also in Silsbee. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. the day of service at the church. Survivors include her daughter, Denna Poole; and sons, Travonte Davis of Beaumont and Trajan Harris of North Platte, Nebraska.
