Trent Grubbs, 47, of Silsbee, passed away Friday, April 27, 2018. Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 5 at Magnolia Springs Cemetery in Kirbyville under the direction of Broussard’s Mortuary in Silsbee. Survivors include his mother, Carolyn McKinney Hawkins; father, Thomas Grubbs; and siblings, Brady, Lesly, Russell and Christy. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Silsbee Public Library, 295 N 5th St., Silsbee, Texas 77656.

Nicole Hayes Lane, 36, passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont. Funeral service was Sunday, April 29 at Faith Assembly of God in Lumberton under the direction of Lumberton Family Funeral Home with burial following at Leatherwood Cemetery, also in Lumberton. Born in Kountze, she graduated from Lumberton High School in 2000. Survivors include her husband of nine years, Jimmy Lane; son, Dylan Young; daughter, Maci Lane; parents, David and Debbie Hayes; brother, Chris and wife Jessica; and grandmother, Mary Murl Feldschau.

Lanny Brasher

Lanny Robert Brasher, 81, of Lumberton, passed away Friday, April 22, 2018 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. Born in Vivian, Louisiana, he was a United States Navy veteran and retired from DuPont after many years. Survivors include his wife Betty Brasher of Lumberton; daughter, Kristy Lee of Dallas; brothers, Bill Brasher and wife Beverly of Arkansas and Charlie Brasher of Mississippi; step-children, Terry Kasseroler of Clear Lake, Tammy Hargraves of Fannett and Troy Leger of Nederland; and three grandchildren and eight step-grandchildren. Lanny’s wishes were to donate his body to science under the direction of Broussard’s in Beaumont. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Jeffrey Warden

Jeffrey Dwayne Warden, 47, of Kountze, died Thursday, April 19, 2018. He was born on October 25, 1970, in Kountze, to Mary Elaine McCoy and Richard Dexter Warden. Jeffrey worked as a plumber and was a member of Pine Lodge #642 A.F. & A.M. in Kountze. Survivors include his wife of twenty-six years, Tonya Warden; parents, Elaine and Richard Warden; children, Jonathan Tyler Warden and his wife, Alexus; Jarrod Zachary Warden; and Jacqueline Mechelle Warden; grandchildren, Paislee Warden and Maddox Warden; brother, Jeremy Warden and his wife, Lavonda; and nieces, Mallory, Jada, Jena, and Jacie Warden, all of Kountze. Jeffrey is preceded in death by his brother, Jonathan Wade Warden; and grandparents, Electra and Norman Warden and Pearl and Clarence McCoy. A gathering of Mr. Warden’s family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., Saturday, April 28, 2018, at First Baptist Church of Kountze, 100 West Monroe Street, Kountze.

Farmer Memorial Park, also in Silsbee. Born in Nashville, Arkansas, he was a United States Army Korean War veteran. Survivors include his brother, J.L. Bradford of Nashville, Arkansas; and sisters, Shirley Bradford of Nashville, Arkansas, Betty Kibodeaux of Beaumont, Linda Hockaday of Nashville, Arkansas and Patsy Whitehead and husband Floyd of Texarkana, Arkansas.

Rev. Oliver Davis

Rev. Oliver H. "Dave" Davis, 84, went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on April 12, 2018. He was born on September 19, 1933 to Joseph and Mary Davis in Port Neches, Texas. He served in the U.S Navy during the Korean conflict stationed in Hawaii. Dave always served small United Methodist churches. He had four distinct calls to the ministry, interspersed with years of making a living as a salesman, but God would not let go and Dave returned to the ministry time after time. He pastored many small Methodist churches in Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, and New Mexico. While in Sanderson, Texas, he married his late-in-life bride Lenora, who loved and supported him with unwavering devotion throughout their 24 years of marriage. He retired from the New Mexico UMC conference in 1996 and returned to his roots in Southeast Texas, near where he grew up. He was preceded in death by brother, Leonard “Deac” Davis of San Antonio, Texas and Elaine Shattuck of Rusk, Texas.

Survivors include sons, Curt Spittler and wife Rhonda of Kountze and Derek Spittler and wife Chelsea of Spurger; daughters, Tammy Dugas and husband Darrell of Nederland and Wendy Tate and husband Kelly of Nederland; brothers, Ruben Spittler and wife Shirley of Spurger and Robert Spittler of Nederland; sisters, Linda Stansbury and husband Lynn of Nederland; and 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
