Allan Garrett

Allan Roy Garrett, 68, of Zavalla, passed away Thursday, February 1, 2018. He was a longtime resident of Lumberton before to moving to the lake following his retirement from Mobil Oil. Survivors include his children, Jody Garrett and wife, Margo of Loveland, Colorado, Angie Jinks and husband, Clayton of Moss Bluff, Louisiana; siblings, Linda Calder and husband, Richard of Vidor and Ronnie Garrett and wife, Fay of Dripping Springs; and seven grandchildren.

Patsy Jo Scroggins, 74, of Lumberton, passed away Thursday, February 1, 2018. She was born in Ruston, Louisiana. Funeral service was Tuesday, February 6 at Broussard’s Mortuary in Kountze with burial following at Pine Ridge Cemetery in Kountze. Survivors include her children, Charlotte Scroggins of Tomball, Carla Tucker and husband, Michael of Sour Lake and Carl Scroggins and wife, Mary of Silsbee; and four grandchildren.

Gardner Stirling

Gardner Charles Stirling, 76, passed away at home very peacefully on January 30, 2018 with his family by his side. A private celebration of his life was held on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at Melancon’s Funeral home in Nederland, Texas. Gardner is survived by his wife, Madeline Hymel Stirling of 54 years; children, Sheri Stirling Young and Ken Young of Kingwood, Texas Charles Allen Stirling of Silsbee, Texas, Bill Stirling and Christina Stirling of Richardson, Texas; one sister, Nellie Don Evans of Houston, Texas. He has five precious grandchildren that were the highlight of his life. Daly Stirling Spencer of Lufkin, Texas, Darby Marie Barr of Lufkin, Texas, Holli Young of Kingwood, Texas, Brendon Young of Kingwood, Texas, Madison Stirling of Richardson, Texas and one precious great-granddaughter, Ava Marie Stirling- Spencer of Lufkin. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Hendrix Stirling; brother-in-law, R.D. Evans and brother-in-law, Thomas Boesch.

Fannie Walker

Fannie M. Walker, 89, entered into eternal rest on January 22, 2018 at La Estanica Rehabilitation Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona. Fannie was born in Silsbee to Will and Johnny Walker on May 30, 1928. She was an enthusiast to the readings of political affairs and health services issues. While residing in Silsbee she was an active member of St. Mark Catholic Church. She united with Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Phoenix upon her relocation. While she lived on this earth, she gave unselfishly to all and through her passing she continued to give. She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Mae Donna Scott, Katie B. Lewis, and Lavelle Walker; brothers, Will Walker, Calvin Walker, Thomas Mack Walker, Joseph Walker, and Johnny Lee Walker. She is survived by her daughter, Janice Walker, a sister, Jo Anna Walker Alexander; and a host of family, and friends.
