Thomas Kirby

Thomas Adrain Kirby, 80, of Lumberton, passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. Born in Houston, he spent almost 40 years in the Navy Active and Reserve. He was a retired maintenance electrician at Mobil Chemical in Beaumont. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Henrietta “Hedy” Kirby; daughters, Sandra Lee Kirby and Heather Feldman and husband Chad; sons, Jimmy Thomas and Kelly Kenser; and one grandchild.

Shirley Seale

Shirley Jean Seale, 84, of Silsbee, died Sunday, December 31, 2017, at San Jacinto Manor Nursing Facility, Deer Park. She was born on September 20, 1933, in Houston, to Hazil Park and Ford Roach. Shirley retired as a key punch operator at Texaco. Survivors include her children, Sharon and her husband, Craig, of Kilgore; David Doss, of San Leon; William Doss, of Sulphur, Louisiana; and Brenda Murphy, of Fayetteville, North Carolina; siblings, Patsy Carpenter and her husband, Irvin, of Rosenburg; Marvin Stanford and his wife, Terry and Gregory McInnis, of Texas City; and Janice McInnis, of Las Vegas, Nevada; and thirteen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. Shirley is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack Seale; siblings, Beverly Rouse, Bobby Stanford, and Jacquline Young. A gathering of Mrs. Seale’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, January 5, 2018, at Broussard’s, 530 West Monroe, Kountze.

Dorothy Lucille Clauser, 97, of Beaumont, passed away on Sunday, December 24, 2017. Visitation will be Thursday, December 28, 2017, from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be at Farmer Funeral Home on Friday, December 29, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. with interment to follow at R.S. Farmer Memorial Cemetery. Survivors include sons, Dwight Lansford of Beaumont, and Raymond Landsford of Ore City, TX; two grandchildren, two great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren and one on the way.

Tommy Clark

Tommy Gene Clark, 81, of Longview, formerly of Wildwood, passed away Sunday, December 24, 2017. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army where he worked for NORAD and served in the Pacific Command in Okinawa. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 27, 2017 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Graveside services will follow at 2:30 pm, at R.S. Farmer Cemetery. Survivors include his sons, Craig Clark and wife, Lynn of Plano, and Cary Clark and wife, Denise of Hallsville; brothers, Reverand Jerry Clark of Buna, and Dr. Gary Clark of Houston; five grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews

Bernice Marlene Josey, 74, of Silsbee, passed away Sunday, December 24, 2017 at Christus Dubuis Hospital in Beaumont. Funeral services will be 10:00 am Thursday, December 28, 2017 with interment to follow at Resthaven Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at Farmer Funeral Home. Survivors include her husband of 55 years, James Josey, Sr. of Silsbee; children, James Lester Josey, Jr and wife, Kim of Spring, William Josey and wife Susan of Buna, Ronald Eugene Josey and wife, Barbara of Lumberton, Sharon Kay Josey of Silsbee, Thomas Earl Josey of Silsbee and Johnathan Lee Josey and wife, Carolyn of Woodville; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren and numberous nieces and nephews.

James Smith

James Leo Smith, 93, of Portland, Texas passed away December 21, 2017. James, or Jimmy as his friends called him, was born December 7, 1924 in Canton, Mississippi. After high school, James attended the University of Tennessee before joining the Army Air Corp to fly planes. After the war, he went to work for and later retired from International Paper Company. After moving to Nacogdoches, he met and married Jane Elizabeth Spurlin in 1954. Jane preceded him in death in 2010. James and Jane lived in Beaumont, Silsbee, and Nacogdoches, Texas and were longtime residents of Henderson, Texas before moving to Portland, Texas. James is survived by two sons, Clark and wife Teresa Smith of Portland, Texas, Claude and wife Nancy Smith of Colleyville, Texas; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 27 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Laird Funeral Home with graveside at 11 a.m.

John Pat White, 62, of Silsbee passed away after battling months of cancer on Saturday, December 23, 2017. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at Farmer Funeral Home with interment following in R.S. Memorial Cemetery. Visitation was held Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at the funeral home. Survivors include his children, John Pat White and Jennifer Whitehead of Silsbee, and Stacy Battle and husband Rodney of Lumberton; sisters, Sydney Wilson of Houston and Betty Ann Williford of Kountze; mother-in-law, Flora Arnold of Silsbee; and five grandchildren.

George Kirkpatrick Jr.

George P. Kirkpatrick, Jr., “Pete”, born May 20, 1934, in Jasper, Texas, to George P. Kirkpatrick, Sr. and Lela Scott Kirkpatrick (Nee Hancock) and passed from this life on December 20, 2017, at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth, Beaumont, surrounded by his wife Jo Ann Kirkpatrick and family. Pete was a graduate of Beaumont High School and Sam Houston State University. He also attended Baylor Law School. Pete practiced law in Hardin County for more than fifty years and was one of the last lawyers who “read the law” under the tutelage of R. A. “Red” Richardson and his father George P. Kirkpatrick, Sr. prior to being sworn into the State Bar of Texas in 1961.

Lee James “L.J.” Parker, passed away Friday, December 15, 2017 at Liberty Dayton Regional Medical Center. Funeral service was at 10 a.m. today (Wednesday, December 20) at Broussard’s Mortuary in Silsbee with burial following in Fred Community Cemetery in Fred. He was a native and longtime resident of Scott, Louisiana and had lived in Daisetta. Survivors include brothers, Wilber Parker and wife Laurie of Lota, Malcolm Parker of Daisetta, Albert James Parker of Silsbee, Hardy Parker and wife Selena of Scott, Louisiana and Troy Parker and wife Angela of Silsbee; and sisters, Oweita Cooper and husband Dennis of Leesburg, Georgia, Dianne Shiver and husband Warren of Camilla, Georgia, Linda Broom and husband Kenneth Jr. of Silsbee and Patricia Broussard and husband John.

Willie Gore

Willie Bee Gore, 94, of Silsbee, died Monday, December 11, 2017. She was born November 7, 1923 in Silsbee to Arzalia “Zadie” Strahan Baker and Bronson Cooper Baker. Willie Bee loved to cook and was a faithful member of Caney Head Assembly of God Church. Survivors include her daughter, Elaine Mallette; son, Jerry Lynn and wife Tracey Lyn; grandchildren, Vance Cawley and wife Cheryl, Jill Barker and husband John, Renee Williams and husband David, Kevin Gore and wife Kandy and Clint Gore and wife Kathy; great-grandchildren, Thomas Cawley and wife Brittany, Quinton Cawley and wife Bryce, GiGi Campbell and husband Matthew, Jed Barker, Brooke Williams, Colt Williams, Faith Gore, Chance Gore, Samantha Hightower, Brody Hightower, Tristan Gore, Ashton Gore, Autumn Cawley, and Ryder Cawley; three great-greatgrandchildren and one on the way; sisters, Betty Ward and Gladys Tanton; sister-in-law, Raye Baker; and daughter-inlaw, Sarah Gore.
