Paul Easley

Funeral services for Paul Gene Easley, 64, of Spurger were at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 24, 2017 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee. Visitation was from 1:00 p.m. until time of service. Mr. Easley passed away April 19, 2017 at his residence. Paul was born April 20, 1952 in Hemphill to Titus Paul and Geraldine Chance Easley. He was a lifetime resident of Fred and Spurger. Paul proudly served his country in the US Navy and worked as a safety engineer for Englobal Engineering before retiring. Mr. Easley is preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Britton Hutto. Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Debbie Holden Easley of Spurger; daughters, Ashley Kelahlyah and husband Eli and Rachel Easley, both of Beaumont; brother, Wendall Paul Easley of Dallas; sisters, Mary Smith and husband Ronnie of Silsbee, Betty Hall and husband Wayne of Fred, Barbara Hutto of Fred and Annette Wortham and husband R.E.

Rita Rogers

Rita Wiethop Rogers, age 77, of Silsbee, Texas, entered Heaven’s gate on April 24, 2017. Rita was born September 19, 1939, in Silsbee, Texas, the daughter of Clifford Herschel, Sr. and Marie (Paine) Aultz. A consummate mother and homemaker, Rita was an excellent cook and thoroughly enjoyed preparing meals for family and friends. Rita passed down the love of cooking and many of her secret recipes to her children. Rita also enjoyed gardening, sewing, fishing, dancing, playing dominoes, and her little dachshund, Abby. Those who knew Rita, knew that her world revolved around her family. She especially enjoyed when her family gathered in her home for special occasions.

Sheila Moon

Funeral services for Sheila Jane Moon, 58, of Silsbee were at 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 21, 2017 at Farmer Funeral Home with interment following in Morse Cemetery in Buna. Visitation began at 5:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Ms. Moon passed away April 17, 2017 at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont. She was born December 9, 1958 in Sulphur LA to James T and Betty Jane Hood Moon. Sheila was a longtime resident of Silsbee. She worked as a loan officer before retiring. Ms. Moon is preceded in death by her father; and sister Pamela Suzette Moon. She is survived by her mother, Betty Moon Derryberry of Silsbee; sons, Joshua Thomas Hamner of Denham Springs, Louisiana, Jeremiah Dustin Hamner of Centre, Alabama and Jacob Howard Secrest, Jessie Secrest and Douglas Secrest, all of Denham Springs, Louisiana; brother, Joseph Thomas Moon of San Augustine; sister, Tammy Moon Andrews of Evadale; and grandchildren Kitana, Jade, Brice, Brayden, Brianna, Jeremiah II, Hayden, Hannah and Makayla.

Claudette Webb

Claudette “Snookie” Webb, 78, of Jena, Louisiana, passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2017 in Kountze. Funeral service was Saturday, April 22 at Farmer funeral Home in Silsbee with burial following in Fellowship Cemetery in Warren. Born in San Augustine, she had been staying with her mother in Kountze. Survivors include her mother, Evon Bridges of Kountze; sons, Thomas Michael Browning and wife Brenda of Crystal River, Florida, Casey Webb and wife Jamie of Shreveport, Louisiana and Michael Webb and wife Stephanie of Pineville, Louisiana; daughter, Thressa Vaughn of Gonzalez, Louisiana; brother, Kenneth Thornton of North Zulch; and 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great grandchildren.

Anna Price

Anna Ruth Young Price, 75, of Lumberton, passed away Thursday, April 13, 2017.

Funeral service was Monday, April 17 at Lumberton Family Funeral Home in Lumberton with burial following at Franks Branch Cemetery in Fred.

She worked at the Benevolence Foundation and then worked as a recored keeper for the Beaumont Police Department, where she retired.

Survivors include her husband, James William Price of Lumberton; children, Sheila Dunn and husband Greg of Beaumont, Kim Challie and husband Joseph Langston of Silsbee, and Wayne Orsak and James K. Price, both of Lumberton; and 15 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Victor Petkovsek

Victor Anthony Petkovsek, 86, of Lumberton, passed away Sunday, April 16, 2017 at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 20 at Infant Jesus Catholic Church in Lumberton under the direction of Broussard’s Mortuary in Beaumont. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. today (Wednesday, April 19) at the funeral home.

Born in Beaumont, he retired as an operator after 30 years at Texas Gulf and Sulfur in Beaumont.

Survivors include his daughters, Alison Gilmore of Lumberton and Lola Smith and husband James of Willis; brother, Jerry Petkovsek of Beaumont; and eight grandchildren and eight greatgrandchildren.

Betty Vrana

Betty Jean Audilet Vrana, 87, of Kountze, died Wednesday, April 5, 2017.

Funeral service was Sunday, April 9 at Broussard’s Mortuary in Kountze with burial following at Old Hardin Cemetery, also in Kountze.

Born in Homewood, Mississippi, she was an auto parts saleswoman. Survivors include her children, Bonnie Padon and husband Robert of Winnie, Lynda McInnis and husband Kenneth of Kirbyville and Cynthia Freeman and husband James and Don Phillips and wife Brenda, all of Kountze; siblings, Raymond Audilet, Clifton Audilet, George Audilet, and JoAnn Mendoza; and ten grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

Paul Weyler

Paul Kelsey Weyler, 87, of Kountze, passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at The Garden’s – Altus in Beaumont.

Funeral service was Saturday, April 15 at Broussard’s Mortuary in Kountze with burial following at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont.

Born in Shiveley, Kentucky, he was a retired general construction superintendent and a member of Carpenters Local #753. He was also a United States Army and Merchant Marines veteran.

Survivors include his children, Paula Joyce Weyler and Rodney Weyler and wife Shirley, both of Kountze, Charlie Weyler and wife Rhona of Rockdale; and Randy Weyler and wife Holly of Warren; and 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

In Remembrance of Dr. Cynthia Marie Hollis Franklin

Cynthia departed this life on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 in Daly City, California. Cynthia was a 1968 graduate of Silsbee High School. She also earned her Certificate of Completion in Vocational Nursing from Lamar University, Beaumont, Texas, Associate in Science from City College of San Francisco, Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Fresno State University, Master of Science in Nursing from the University of San Francisco, and Doctor of Management from the University of Phoenix.

Cynthia loved her life, meeting and helping people, and traveling abroad. She lived the majority of her life in California, but also lived in Louisiana and Japan.

Vernon Ray Sangwin, 75, of Silsbee, passed away Thursday, April 17, 2017. He was born in Silsbee.

Funeral service was at 11 a.m. today (Wednesday, April 19) at the First Assembly of God Church in Silsbee with burial following at Frank’s Branch Cemetery in Fred under the direction of Broussard’s Mortuary in Silsbee.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Sangwin; children, Sheila Moore and husband Robert of Concord, North Carolina, Barbara Walls and husband Don of Russellville, Arkansas, Frank Leroy Lee Jr. and wife Melissa of Silsbee and Talyon Ray Sangwin and wife Shelly of Kountze; brothers, George Edward Sangwin of Florida and Robert Doyle Sangwin of Dallas; sisters, Gloria Jean Lakey and Delories Wimberly, both of Silsbee, Dorothy Wright and Dottie McClelland, both of Kountze, and Karen Ard and Brenda Sangwin, both of Silsbee; and ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
