Moves prove beneficial in Tigers’ 38-34 win

By Danny Reneau

NAVASOTA — The Silsbee Tigers kept their playoff hopes alive with a thrilling 39-34 win over the Navasota Rattlers in District 10-4A Division 1 action on Oct. 20.

Because of injuries and illnesses, the Tigers’ back was against the wall after three straight losses, including a 58- 38 loss to Little Cypress-Mauriceville in the district opener last week.

Coach Randy Smith and his staff moved several players to different positions. Smith strengthened the Tiger defense by moving Adonis Thomas from running back to linebacker, and brought a new player into the offensive lineup.
