The Silsbee Lady Tigers enter the heart of district play with a 3-0 record in district and an impressive 17-8 record this season. The team has struggled in recent years but suddenly this year the team has seemed to wake up from a long sleep.

Training classes to start for baseball officials on Wednesday

Baseball season is right around the corner and Bruce Williams, a board member for the Texas High School Sports Association reports that they  need baseball officials. He says the average age of a baseball official in Southeast Texas is 59 and the group is running out of bodies.

Tigers dominate football All District Squads

The 2015 Silsbee Tiger football team were highly regarded by coaches in District 10-4A-DI for their play on the field and a number of them received outstanding honors in the district voting. Senior quarterback Dontre’ Thomas (6-0, 185) was named the District 10-4A-DI MVP after a stellar season for Silsbee.

It was the battle of all battles for the Silsbee Tigers on Friday. Facing one of the toughest running back tandems in the state was the icing on the cake for Silsbee’s defense heading into the class 4A, Division I regional round against El Campo.

Silsbee receivers Kalon Barnes and Tre Lowe celebrate after Lowe scored on a 62-yard pass in the fourth quarter that tied the game against El Campo in the class 4A regional round in Conroe on Friday. The Tigers won 43-42 in dramatic fashion to advance to the Region III class 4A Division I finals on Friday against Carthage in Tyler. The game will be held at Rose Stadium slated for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff.
