11-01-2022 - Akiyah Lynn Nash, black female, age 19, arrested on a charge of engaging in organized criminal activity-theft greater than or equal to $500 and less than $1500. 11-02-2022 - Tiffany Ann Andrews, white female, age 33, arrested for an outstanding warrant from another agency, on a charge of failure to identify a fugitive from justice (MB) and a charge of tamper fabricate physical evidence with intent to impair (F3).

Veterans retirement ceremony

The City of Silsbee and the members of Boy Scout Troop 88 will be holding a Flag Retirement Ceremony on Saturday, November 12 at 10:00 a.m. The ceremony will be held at the Veterans Memorial Park on Earnest Ave.

Lights, Camera, Action: Filming underway on LU campus for episode of “The College Tour”

Beaumont – The spotlight will soon shine on ten Lamar University students who will star in the next episode of “The College Tour,” an award-winning series streaming on Amazon Prime Video. Stephanie Barron, Jay Fields, Antonio Lopez Maldonado, Allaina Melancon, Alexis Miller, Zaid Mohammed, Jacob Murphy, Hannah Norwood, Landon Richard and Emily Smith will each lead a segment focusing on their own student experiences and love for Lamar University.

HARDIN COUNTY – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers investigated a non-injury crash involving a commercial motor vehicle on Farm-to-Market Road 418, just east of Village Creek, today, November 8, 2022.

Hardin County Commissioners table Big Thicket Parkway project

The Hardin County Commissioners court met before a packed house Tuesday with a long agenda of largely housekeeping topics. However, one of the items of interest was a resolution number 30-22 in support of project safety for our local communities and protections to the Big Thicket National Preserve with the retention of native vegetation on US Highway 69 Gateway to the Big Thicket Parkway. The item largely had to do with a proposal to remove trees from the median on Highway 69 from Village Creek to the Tyler County line. The item was requested by Ellen Buchanan and Mary Bernard of the Big Thicket Association.
