Three arrested in break-in at Brookshire Bros.

Swift action by Lumberton police last Friday morning resulted in the arrest of three Houston men who were caught breaking into Brookshire Brothers grocery store on Main Street. Lumberton Police Chief Danny Sullins said an alarm went off at 2:10 a.m.

Police seek driver of car that hit school bus

Lumberton police are seeking the driver of a 2008 Ford SUV that sweved and hit a school bus at the intersection of Forest and Hwy 69 last Thursday afternoon. Lumberton Police Chief Danny Sullins said said the SUV went around the bus, made an illegal turn and hit the front bumper of the bus.

FCCLA students secure spot in state competition

Tickets are punched for state for several FCCLA students after competing in the Region IV Leadership Conference. Last week, 20 Silsbee High School students competed in the conference in events which included Baking and Pastry, Focus on Children Level 2, Public Policy Advocate Level 2 and 3, Entrepreneurship, and Food Innovations. Nine students will move on to compete at the state level.

Silsbee band students show talents at region band concert
